Re: Dry cracked heels...

I've been dealing with heal cracks since I was a teenager. I file them down as often as possible, use a really thick heal cream from Bath and Body Works, and wear socks to bed. Those things help, but don't always solve the problem. Liquid skin crack/bandage stuff helps a bit, but you have to keep ap...

Great job Andrea! I can't even imagine training for a full with a toddler, and just having gone back to work full time. That takes a lot of time, energy and focus. Good for you!

meh, in theory I love Friday too, but I'm in a funk. Perhaps a run will make the funk go away? At least a run won't make it worse.

Last Monday of February 2011

Planned to use the bike and do weights tonight, but am tired, so will swap wednesday and Monday and rest tonight instead. Pleased with February, highest mileage month ever. Pretty good for a short month. Not high in comparison with some runners here, but I'm keeping Doug's perspective thread in mind...

Having been posting a lot (or reading for that matter) but have been running regularly. Treadmill run planned for today. Probably in the range of 16 to 20K, depending on how I feel.

Re: A little perspective

Thanks Doug! I need to be reminded of this too. I'm a very back of the pack runner. But I have endurance and long runs in the +/- 20K range. Most of my non-running friends can't even imagine that.

Re: Going Goofy at Disney!

Absolutely Awesome, even more so in light of the stomach issues! Very well done Tori. It boggles my mind to think of running a 1/2 and a marathon back-to-back. It boggles my mind even more to think of finding time to train for it, with a small child, and working full time! Truly awesome!!!

Re: Friday: Goodbye 2010, it's been a slice.

I'm happy to see the end of 2010, it hasn't been a great year. Bring on 2011, and hopefully a better year.

On the other hand, I had my highest mileage year ever this year, so that was one good thing!

Re: Heart Palpitations...do ya get them?

Thanks Tarsals for the detailed response. It made me feel better... sort of. Now if only I could get into to see my family Dr., I'd feel even better. I'm not even looking for a physical, I had that in July. Logically, I don't think that this is anything to be concerned about. But logic doesn't alway...

Re: Heart Palpitations...do ya get them?

Nothing like someone reviving a really old thread. I feel so much better reading this. I have had palpitations occasionally in the past, but only for very brief periods. This week I have been having them every day, and they are really noticeable. My Dr. ordered an ECG in July which was normal, but t...

Re: 2011 Disney Marathon Weekend

I'm not going for marathon weekend (we come home the Friday of that weekend)... but I got a credit on my flights to Orlando worth 1687 today because of the seat sale. That was after paying the $50 change fee to do the swap. Same flights, same days, same time... just $1600 cheaper. I'll take it! Tor...

Re: Can you sleep after evening swim?

One of the reasons I didn't continue with the masters swim club the year I tried it, was that I could not sleep after swimming. (swam 8 -9 in the evening) I can sleep after running, but not after swimming. Not sure why, but it didn't improve over a few months, and sleep was way more important than s...

still thinking about it. Training has been sporadic, and the most recent long run was only 14K. Do I have enough time to be ready? calorie tracker Apps for iPhone?

Does anyone have recommendations for a good calorie tracker App or diet journal for the iPhone? Preferably something that comes pre-loaded with a lot of food choices, and something that is easy to use and update. I have to get serious about getting rid of this weight that I have put on. Using a food...

Re: Lululemon for Running

Yes, read about the zippers, but ironically, the sleeve that is fraying is the left one, and I haven't used that pocket. I think the seams also don't like the front zipper.

The define jacket is too form fitting for me, love the look of it, just not on me.

Re: Lululemon for Running

Discovered that the seams on the sleeves of my new Stride jacket are fraying. Checked the reviews on the Lulu website and discovered that the seams on everyone's Stride jackets are fraying. Will have to see what the store has to say when I take it back to them. I don't think that I want another one ...
