Re: Swimsuit

I manage perfectly well with a Speedo. Although it may not support you while walking around or standing on deck, you don't really need "support" while your're swimming! That's true. I find for me it's an ego issue. If I'm self conscious (even more than just being in a suit would make me) ...

Swimsuit

I posted this on my FB page and thought I'd check in here are well. I need a good suit, suitable for a busty-type lady that needs a bit of support, for lane swims. What's out there in athletic suits that has bust support? I can't seem to find anything. (Also - Hi. It's been a long time since I've be...

Re: Various Apps for New Year's Resolutions

My FIL lost a bunch of weight and credits his iphone app for his success. Really though, this kind of bugs me. Unless he's sucking on his phone instead of eating chips it's not his app that worked, it's him. However, whatever works is wonderful. I do worry, though, that having an external motivator ...

This event got excellent reviews this year, its first year. I expect it will become very popular now that people know it's well organized.

Re: Cyclist killed on Hwy 17, just west of CFB Petawawa

There's a real problem in those sorts of areas. It's the same here - the only way from NB to NS is on the TransCanada unless you want to take a 35km detour on dirt roads. I would love to cycle commute the 17km to my office, but it means riding on the highway so there's no way I'll ever do it. People...

Finally!! I've been waiting for this report! Congratulations on an amazing race and on being such an impressive athlete. Often when I'm considering skipping a workout, it's you who comes to my mind - 'Colleen, with three kids, is training for an Ironman - do your little run for pete's sake!' Enjoy a...

Re: worst run ever

It's so weird isn't it? The same body can be so "on" one day and so "off" the other. I feel somewhat validated as hubby just came home from his run and he cut it short too which he never does (and he cannot be accused of over doing it, Mr.I only run three times a week and still k...

worst run ever

I had the worst run ever today. I can't even call it a run really. My plan was 14-16km. I'm now home, 6.15km later. I started out planning to do 4:1s for the first 20 mins to get warmed up then see how I felt for walk:run intervals (probably 10:1) and try to run the last 5-6km straight. That's what ...

Less running and swimming than I hoped for but quite a bit more cycling so I'll call it even for the month.

Re: Oscar Pistorius to Compete in London 2012!

It's evolution. (I'm only kind of half kidding). I agree with Dstew on this one. Overall I think it's good for humanity and that's more important than the other concerns.

I did a 4k run (using the term loosely) this morning but not early enough. It was HOT and I haven't run in a month give or take so it wasn't my best run ever. But, I'm back at it and that's good!

July goals

I don't see this month's goals yet so I'll start...

Run: 100km and/or 20 runs whichever is more
Swim: 12 swims no distance prescribed. The goal is to get back to the pool
Bike: 8 rides, again no set distance, just get back at it.

Holy carp. I thought I was the only 3:00/100 swimmer on the planet! For a while I was up to 2:40 and I thought I was freakin' Michael Phelps! (But now I can't swim any significant distance either because I haven't been going consistently in ages...)

I want to build on March, so I'm going to say 125km running, 12 hours cycling, and (this will be the hard one) 5 hours swimming.
