Re: Point Grey Triathlon (Sprint)
Thank you for a great race report. I hope to try a triathlon next year. For someone who is just figuring out the swimming part of it I think you are doing great. Swimming is not an easy sport to learn. I have taught swimming for many years and my year off has shown me just how much I love it. I am t...

Re: Top 10 running fashion faux pas
I'm not really fussy with what I wear and don't really care what others wear. Running stuff is expensive and I rather see people out running in whatever they can afford or feel comfortable in then stay at home scared of what the "real runners" will think. Many people are afraid to try new ...

Re: The runners wave?
I wave, nod, smile or say hello or good morning to everyone I pass and 99% of the time I get a positive response. I wave at cars when they go out of there way to make extra room for me and even wave and a thank you when they remember to double check for pedestrians in cross walks. I always say thank...

Re: May 2013 Training Goals
April was great for consistancy, for May I want to increase distances. So goals will be 150km of running and 15,000m of swimming.

Re: Hey Teachers...
That event is a very cool idea. We need to keep our kids active. At my kids school, April is Run for Fun, month. Every class goes outside and for 15 min. they run laps around the fields. The lap has been measured and 120 laps= a marathon. The kids keep track and at the end of the month they give an ...

Re: Positive RM vibes needed
Orange vibes. Seuss-I am sorry to hear about your friend. I am not sure if it is the same but I had 2/3 of my right lung removed and the chunk that is left is full of scar tissue. My lung capacity is getting better and better the more I work out and run. My pace and times are almost back to where th...

I brought a friend of a friend who is a mechanic and knows alot about bikes. He checked it out and I went through the list of stuf...

Re: Bike Help for a Newbie
Thanks Mark,
Great advice and I will make sure I look at all that stuff. The seller said he was custom fit for the bike and he is 5'10 I am just over 5'9 so I will have to make sure it is not too big.
and, I will try to haggle but I suck at it.

Thanks. The broken bone was on the outside, baby toe side of my foot about half way down, so it didn't have much pressure on it. I plan on doing the full. I love he Vancouver course. Last time I did it, 2004, I did my PB 3:48 not sure if I can do that now but I am going to train smart for it and try.

Carrie-don't get down about your 3 pound gain, that is the tiniest blip in your amazing accomplishment of lossing like you have. I had a great summer, maybe a little too great. Tons of camping which not only took me away from this board but away from all healthy habbits. I have gained slighlty over ...

My OIM Half
I love reading the reports so I thought I would add mine. Allthough it is not very exciting. I was going to run the full but broke my foot at the beginning of July then went camping for a month and a half and didn't get much training during that time. On top of that I had my hubby cut my cast off af...
