Woman gives birth after finishing Chicago Marathon

Good on her for being that fit to cover that distance when that many weeks pregnant..... Would I do it.... Hell No! Can only imagine what the parents thought (unless of course they are runners too). Do I think it was a wise decision, absolutely not. Your body is working overtime to provide for baby ...

Re: 2013 Boston BQ -X Shallonge Thread

I am so in for this shallonge. My new BQ time for 2013 is 3:55:00. With my one and only marathon being 3:59:33 I'm thinking that there is room for improvement. The question is can I make that 4 min plus improvement with just one more full. I am going to work my backside off to make it happen. Will ...

NB 1080s

I ordered my 1080's yesterday and should get them today. I get alot of heal wear on the outsides so I'm very curious if I'll like these shoes. I've only ever used New Balance, I hope I like them.

Edit: it's mcshame.

I think if nothing else they got a boost of self esteem (hopefully not just a temporary one) that will encourage them to keep trying new things or at least encourage them a little more in their daily lives.

Re: Run Run Revolution

I am very curious LOL. I found an article in the citizen on these kids that had their names so I put their names in sportstat. The only one who has run in a race tracked by sportstat since RRR is Ian Anderson. He did the 5k at ORW. He was the one shown running with his mother. Hopefully the others ...

OMG that is just awful news. I don't think anything we could say would bring you comfort at this most difficult time. My thoughts are with you and your family. Hopefully you and your husband can find strength together to get you both through this.

Last Hump Wedneday of 2010

Slept in, had a late breakfast, tried to figure out how to make a decent coffee with my new stove top espresso maker, went tobogganing with the kids (and tried out the new "King Sized" GT Sno Racer that I got for Christmas), then ran 4km on snowy trails with my screw shoes (a blast!) then...

Re: christmas cookies!

People usually run into problems doubling recipes when baking powder is involved. Because this wasn't the case, I'm going to say there might have been a problem with the measurements (so easily done in larger batches). If it is possible, weighing ingredients is more accurate, especially with large ...

Might as well feel the pain! Well, I'm not buying the birthday present, it's Michelle, we'll see what she decid...

Active Release Therapy

ART and Graston worked for my PF. The ART but more particularly the Graston that he did on my calf for the PF hurt like hell and I left there with a completely black and blue calf. I was sweating buckets and wanted to cry but told him everything was fine. It was worth the pain, my PF disappeared and...

Is she suggesting with "rehab" the polapse will be corrected? My understanding (although limited) is that the prolapse is something you would consider fixing surgically if you are as young as you are.... Sounds kind of rough either way :( No, it won't be corrected. It is minor, rated a 1,...

Re: For the ladies: Running and the Pelvic Floor

She did not recommend running anything over 10km even with the pessary. Some core exercises have a similar affect on me (cramping, pulling feeling). She did recommend pilates but with a "good" instructor that can properly explain the use of the pelvic region. She said running is not a good...
