My Canada Army Run race report...nay, experience

My apologies for the blog link, but my race report contains both images and video, which add a great deal of context to the report.
Thanks for reading.

Re: Army 1/2 Bib

Yup...I ran as Horselady once...though to be honest, I kinda wrecked her HM average time on Sportstats. However....for some reason, my ability to take great 'selfies' improved dramatically after wearing her bib. (because really, no one takes a selfie like Horselady) If this is still aro...

Re: 2013 Army Run

With the Army Run fast approaching, please forgive the shameless plug. The Army Run is having a video contest, and today is the last day to enter. I'm not certain if views help or not, but they can't hurt. This is my take on why I run the Army Run. I shot this north of Gatineau, Quebec, using an iPa...

My Minimal Running mini-documentary

I finally got around to uploading a mini-doc (3 mins) to YouTube that I filmed in Spring 2012. Though you all might like it. Ottawa runners may recognize the 'star' of the video. Enjoy, and if you like it, feel free to share it on your social media platform of choice. :D http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Quick word of thanks to the Ironfamily

Time and injuries led me set up my treadmill in the garage, despite my detestation for the torture devices. In my search for a way to make it more palatable, I was on the market for a used TV. The Ironfamily immediately jumped and offered me one for a very good price...FREE!! And this was despite my...

Bear in mind, the Post is a more sensational version of Canada's The Sun. It's how they sell papers.

That said, I voiced the same opinion, that she should be replaced, but for much different reasons.

Re: NY Marathon cancelled

Right call horribly handled by the mayor. The positive and premature statements earlier in the week that encouraged people to get on their flights and to not cancel their hotel rooms should have been an announcement would be made on a specific day. Sadly the late cancellation gives the feel of a ne...

Menzies Bamboo Bikes

I'm not normally a blog pusher, but seeing as the article I'm presenting is on one of RM's own, I figured it was all good. A feature I did on Menzies Bamboo Bikes, and Pat Menzies himself. Hope you like it. :D http://ramblingrickblog.wordpress.com/2012/09/19/menzies-bamboo-bikes-give-new-meaning-to-...

Y'know, I always thought the WWRTD (What would Robbie-T Do) line was so cool. 8) Now I see a rendition with my name in it...social responsibility dictates you do the opposite of WWAFRD. My running decisions are questionable at the best of times. But racing regardless of conditioning, regardles...

Re: Don't feel like getting out for your run? Watch this.

Don't want to undermine the achievement and sound like a dink, but this did not move me one bit. As I stated on FB, these kids for the most part, have more spirit and drive in their pinky fingers than we could ever hope to have. This kid owned it just like he knew he would. Of course, this is coming...

Well this was my 4th half marathon not including the one bib I gave to Air Force Runner to run for me!! I think he would have been faster that year if he had run in a skirt...but I digress! Hey, you may be right. If you can increase your PB, even by a second, I will run a half in a skirt. No...

Re: Marathon runners are arrogant, narcissistic, babies

I don't think the IAAF can do that or would want to. The base of the federation (International Association of Athletics Federations) is amateur athletics. It really doesn't have a strong link to world marathons, though they are still sanctioned. IAAF is more concerned I think with Diamond League in...

Re: Marathon runners are arrogant, narcissistic, babies

With the exception of the title (which I know you did to grab attention), I really enjoyed this article. It really 'ripped the band-aid' off and exposed what has been quiet grumbling for awhile. If I didn't know you, I might have taken this as a bit 'holier than thou'. Having met you (albeit briefly...
