Slow Sunday

Up at dark o'clock for join my friend for about 21K of his (much longer) run. Further evidence in the "I'm not young anymore" file is that, in conjunction with yesterday's race, I'm now shuffling around like I just ran a hilly marathon.

International Goof-off Day Wednesday

(go ahead and check the web while at work — it's a thing)

Another early morning 14K. While I don't feel very fit yet, the better footing is bringing my easy pace back into its usual spot.

Re: Feeling blah when running - is there a better way?

Some of it might just be a gradual adaptation over the months ahead. Other things to consider: (1) Shoes — when shoes lose their cushioning (or if you're using a less-cushioned model), it can increase the impacts on your legs. (2) Surfaces — cement sidewalks are a very unforgiving surface. If you ha...

How I need a drink, alcoholic of course, after the heavy lectures involving quantum mechanics.

(All aspects of that last sentence apply to me right now.)

Brisk 14K this morning to take advantage of some warmer temperatures (and burn off some frustration).

Sorry for going off topic Way out of line, in my opinion. An 86 year-old dying of cancer is hardly an unnatural tragedy that warrants proselytizations about how best to eat and exercise. There are other places on this board for you to post that. Hopefully the mods will remove these posts so that th...

Hmmmm...things seem to be getting a bit heated in this thread, and I think it will help if people just take a breather Note to newcomers: Jennifer and I have met many times in real life and there's no hostility here. I just happen to be a bit of a contrarian when it comes to this particular topic.
