team tri?

I was just wondering if there are triathlons where one person swims , another person bikes and the third person does the run..I have a friend who is a very good swimmer and a buddy who is a strong biker and I will do the run. also..if this is an event, are there co-ed teams? my friends are intereste...

I like the idea of personalized coaching , I tend to push myself harder when I am running alone , but do love how much fun a team can have before and after workouts.

I was just wondering...is it true that team training helps more than running on your own or with a few other runners? I have been running on my own or with a freind between cross and track and I have always got more out of my training when im not with a team..I think im a selfish runner , so running...

what are the distances for each event? running is 10k? I have seen so many different types of tri's I dont know how far the race really is.

I was looking at the finishing times , and Lauren King doesnt have a time..she may have not finished the race.. http://results.active.com/pages/searchform.jsp#hot_links thats the link if anyone wants to take a look as I said above, she must have DNS'ed. I voted for half marathon..But I would also like to keep my speed , I have ran a 4:14 , in the 1500 meter. So I wanna take a crack at the mile..see how fast I will run it. I need to have a half marathon plan that will help me keep my speed becuase last track season I was training as an 800 meter run...

also..I have heard of runners who take jelly beans on their runs..is this true? and does it have the same outcome as some running jels?
