Re: October Mileage Challenge!

Got the schedule and it's 390km this month so I'm going with that! :D 370km in October YTD: 2964.4km - passed last year's total mileage of 2908km - officially no longer seeing a physiotherapist for the SIJ - yay! PS Congrats to Mark on the new mileage high and congrats to Lorne for that sprinkle on...

Re: Boston Registration HELP!

I know one registrant who has indicated on her FB status that she's actually not targeting Boston as her main Spring race...but registered to go...just in case. ... indeed, Jo-Jo... and that registrant is now totally befuddled as how to respond to this whole crazy business today. I need a few days ...

Re: Boston Registration HELP!

how is it not fair? Well, if a person couldn't log on to register today or had a slower connection or didn't want to try that "other" link (I took a total risk in doing that) and figured they might be able to tomorrow... ugh... I went through a freakish 3 hours this morning and I thought ...

I'm in, too: 2003520 after much panic over the first link not working (filled it in 6 times before giving up and going to work to start trying again at 9:15 CST), finding another link on FB (thanks Jenn!), and calling my bank to make sure my credit card wasn't charged a gob of times for the many tim...

October Mileage Challenge!

Since everyone appears to be tapering and running marathons and running Lemming Loops this month, I'm sneaking in at what appears to be a most opportune time and issuing this month's mileage challenge! No idea what my schedule calls for yet, but I'd be pretty happy with 340ish this month. Anyo...

Re: September Mileage Challenge

I'm in... ran 188 km last month, up from 119 in July. The training schedule calls for 285 this month, so I'd be thrilled with that. 302.2 this month and 24 runs! - first time over 300km since May - first time getting in 24 runs in a month since April - the legs and SIJ are wonderful - no pain! YTD:...

Re: My First Race

My first road race was with my father, a month after I turned 6: a 5K in 41 minutes. The next summer, still at the age of 6, I ran a 10K with him in 75 minutes. Is this a form of child abuse?   Just kidding. I'm eternally grateful to my father for those experiences. Even though I ...

Glad to see you found some stretches. One exercise given to me by my physiotherapist involves a tennis ball. Get a tennis ball and lean up against a wall and roll your butt on it. Or sit on the ball, supporting a good chunk of your weight with your arms, and work the tightness out that way (more pai...
