Re: Sulphur Springs

What a weekend, got there Friday afternoon with Steeve. Went around the place, got to talk to some very interesting people and walked a part of the trail. I started my run with my buddy Steeve, he wanted to follow my pace not to risk going out too fast, but lets say it didn't last. After 5 miles it ...

Re: Choosing 2010 races

This is perfect. I was just trying to decide between 50 km or 50 miles at Seaton trails in April. Your post is perfect. - I'm not really prepared for 50 km, so better go for 50 miles - Miles is easier to pronounce then kilometer after a day of running. - 62 km = 60 $ or 80 km = 70 $ = more for my mo...

Re: Your Story

My story is both different and the same as all others. I've been in the army since 1995. You'd figure we're mostly in good shape, especially being in the infantry. But here is a reality check. I wasn't, i could run 10 km at a fast pace (60 min+) but this was because they told me so. In 2002, i chang...

Re: A kick to the butt to run in the snow

It's nice to know I'm not the only one. I hope your not injured or too sore. Good luck with your next race. I did go out this morning, i guess the warmer weather these days helps with motivation. I'll keep on going forward and i don't plan on missing any training. It just felt good to get it out of ...

A kick to the butt to run in the snow

I know it's just complaining, but I'm having allot of difficulty going out this winter. I'm originally from Quebec, i really should be accustomed to bitter cold winters and high snow banks, to be honest, I'm not. It's the first time in my short 7 years running career that i need to push my self to g...

Re: The Pros and Cons of being an Ultra BOPer

You guys ROCK ! I'm by far a BOPer, all those pros and cons represent most of the feelings i felt this year. pro: At the finish line, all the fans treat you like like a rock star (it's all pity) Con: as a rock star, there's only 1 fan left. Can't wait for the 2010 season to start. Are we their yet ?

Vulture Bait was indeed a very nice place to hold the final official race for 2009. As usual volunteers where awesome and very cheering (even for the limping slow dude). Thanks to all for the support. I finished more then two hours later then expected but had lots of fun (even with the pain) Thanks ...

Re: VultureBait trail race Oct 17th

C'mon all you wiener runners! 25 K is a great distance! Vulture Bait is a wonderful course for a first trail race. Don't let the freakish ultra crowd dominate! I'm far from "freakish ultra crowd" still more on the wiener side (i like saying Beginner) but the title wiener fits really good....

Re: UltraQueenga's Haliburton 100 report

Any runner who idolizes other runners performance is a hero in my book. I did the 50m, and to be honest I'm amazed at how you can go the entire 100. Especially alone. Whether you realize it or not, you are a runner's role model. Congrats on a great report but specifically a awesome race.

Re: The Official Haliburton Thread

According to the weather network, long forecast for Saturday is nice and dry with a high of 20 C. Normally good but i would of preferred wet and miserable, gives me a good excuse for being extra slow. Looks like I'll have to find an other reason for being back there. Can't wait for the start. I'm going for a 8 hours for the 50 Miller, if my legs can keep up with my ego.

I'm there to explore the trail for next year, planning on doing the 100mile. I'll go with the flow. Just a good time on the trails.

The trail does look appealing. For fund raiser, i usually go for MIRA, i just couldn't imagine my self being blind, i imagine the dogs give a good help. I am still trying to figure something out, plans are coming along
