Re: Sulphur Springs Trail Run

Great running everyone! Watched Strider go past me on the Lollypop, like I was standing still, looking strong and confident. Congrats on a great run! Saw Kinga and West Grey going the other way at some point or another, and had I nice yak with BJH after the 25K finish. Was totally jazzed to see a wo...

Re: Montrail Fairhaven's?

Mine seem pretty wide.... mind you I went with the men's model, as they didn't have big enough in the women's at the store I go to. But I've been having metatarsal/Morton's neuroma problems and so was looking for both a roomier toebox plus some motion control.

Re: What? No Sulphur Springs trail race thread??

Congrats to everyone that finished!!! Got a chance to talk to Doonst and Annelizabeth before the start and Ron passed me early on in the first 20K loop, singing away to his iPod, looking strong. Saw Strider a couple of times, but it wasn't until after that I realized who it was. I bailed at about 32...

Re: 5 Peaks Albion Hills

Yes, it was a terrific day! Many thanks to Dave and Susan for a job well done. The course marking technique was quite new and I found it really easy to follow. Not much of a chance to go wrong, and marshalls where the trickiest bits were. Since I was almost bringing up the rear in the half, I was af...

Re: Seaton Trail 50 mile, 52km, 29km

MotorCity.. Sorry, was in bed by the time you replied and have been slammed at work today. Expect you're already pretty much here by now, but in case you have internet access when you get here, I've a couple of suggestions. Pickering is a bit thin on fine dining, but a couple of places might fit the...

MotorCity..... I live in Pickering.....what kind of food are you looking for?

I can't comment on the drop bags, but there's no Friday pickup for the bibs. Don't worry, your hotel is only 10 minutes from the Start/Finish.

Re: Seaton Trail 50 mile, 52km, 29km

I'm running the 29K, and seriously hoping that rain moves out to Sunday! Was out there myself 2 weeks back and agree this is going to be a quagmire. Also not exactly impressed by many of the trail "improvements". Hoping that I'll be there early on Saturday to see the 50 mile and 52K starts...

Re: Listen to your body.

I too ran by that guy on the road Sunday, as a woman was administering chest compressions. Not a scene that I'm going to forget for a long time. When I headed home on the Go train, another participant described to me how he'd seen him fall, almost like he was shot... hitting his head on the pavement...

Re: St. Patrick's Day 5k, Toronto

I have a friend at work, a newbie runner, who's convinced a few of us to sign up with her. ... or rather I should say the promise of beer at the finish convinced me! Given the LR in my schedule for the day before and my total lack of speed work to date, I guess this'll be a nice supported recovery r...

Re: Scotiabank Full - race morning transportation

You're staying at McCowan and 16th? The Centennial Go station is right down the road, just north of the Markville mall! Looks to me like the first train/bus (can't tell) leaves at 6:38, gets to Union at 7:10, then hourly after that. Cab would be way expensive from there! http://www.gotransit.com/pub...

What a craptastic day. 19K in the rain and slush on muddy, hilly backroads, with cars spraying crud all over me. Glad it's done.
