Re: Limberlost challenge

You could get by without them but will probably enjoy the race much more with them. A little more stability and not falling down as much will make for a much more enjoyable experience.

Re: Sulphur Springs 2014

its always trial and error to find what's right for you, you can leave a variety of options at the start finish in your drop bag so don't be afraid to do a loop with that small handheld and have the pack there for later on if you want it. Last year I was averaging 30 oz water for every 20k and 4 gel...

Re: Sulphur Springs 2014

Tim, I run with the handhelds as it avoids a lot of lost time at aid stations, course is fast and while there are no "big" hills the cumulative elevation sees a pile of people sucking wind by the time they finish. The jury is still out on whether the gravel made the course faster, personal...

Hey Ron do you know for sure yet if its a double 40k loop? not too worried about the actual course can assume its lots of up and down and hot in july.

Re: Ultra Series

Ran 3 last year and felt great, May, Sept and Dec. 2 this year so far but if there was to be another festival of stupidity in creemore would definitely get reeled into a third. Depends on how you run them, if you really push a 100 it will take at least a month if not two for your body to fully recov...

Re: How to be a pacer

Favorite pacer quote,Ron Gehl to Laurie McGrath"Puke fast, its a race." In my experience its best to have pacers near the end of a race who will not feel sorry for you at all,its going to hurt but the best pacers just don't care they are there to get you to the finish.

Phlox Run,Paris Ontario

Great local race for anyone interested ,10 and 25k run .6 and 10 k walk. The coarse is mostly singletrack ,follows the Grand river so a few ups and downs but very runable. The race suports the trail you run on so its a very good cause(also a local trail I train on so there is some personal benefit t...

Re: Creemore 100 Mile Fun Run- DNF

I'd have to agree,I think these colder runs you still sweat a lot, it just isn't as noticable.I was using 1 s-cap per loop ,a bottle of eloar(16oz) and a gel per loop with an extra gel every third loop.Whenever the eload started tasting sweet instead of that slightly salty taste I switched to straig...

Re: Coming Soon: Creemore 100 Mile Challenge!

Hey Pierre,I'll be up Friday night with the tent, planning for a really cold night. Looks like good weather in the longterm forecast,-4 with a chance of snow and a flat course perfect for a winter 100 in creemore.
