ENDURrun Stage 1: Half Marathon

Set a new PB under 1:40, which is about 2 minutes faster than my time for this race last year. I felt really good, albeit a bit strained in my left hamstring. Tomorrow is a short 15 km time trial.

Great run today! It was nice to meet Dave today, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the week.

It looks like a bigger potluck barbecue is being organized for Friday, pretty close to our house, so it might be better to meet up there.

Yeah, I'm hoping to learn a lot from the experience. I'm not counting the backpack out of the running yet, especially if the temperature climbs up towards 30 degrees. If it's too much of a pain, I can switch to something lighter.

Not trying to sell myself short on anything. More trying to avoid carrying more than I need. There's a balance somewhere in the middle.

I can't find my usual handheld since I didn't need it all winter. I've got a smaller 10oz one that I can use though. Although it might need to be refilled, a smaller handheld might be nicer to carry anyway.

I worked out the logistics, and gulp, clicked the Go button. This will be my first 50 miler.

I am interested in Sulphur Springs, but I'm a bit stuck on how to get there. A 6 am start isn't very great for taking family, and it's a long enough run that I don't know if I would be able to drive myself home afterwards. What do you guys do?

Ran the second of my two long runs this weekend. 29 km of cold wind. Yesterday was 35 km of stronger wind, but warmer temperatures. I'm ready for spring.

13 km today with 5 km at marathon pace. Holy man was the wind ever cold.
