Re: Banff Trail Running - any suggestions?

Sulfur Mtn is more of a hike rather than a run from what I recall. It is doable as a run, but I would suggested arriving early as it can get rather crowed & busy on the trail. There were some good trails to mtn bike on that were off the access road to the Banff Springs Hotel Golf Course and they...

Re: Wednesday!!

My phone says it's 19C but the sun felt hotter on my face when I was running. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I was out for my run before work, just before 7am and it was almost the perfect conditions. The sun was warm, but certainly not at all unbearable at all. I love this weather!!! 8.4K logg...

Re: Where are people buying discount shoes these days?

I'm late to the show here, but I've had success getting shoes thru eBay. I've purchased two pairs of shoes (Brooks Glycerins 9 & 10) from this seller, TONEDZONE with great success. The shoes are listed as used when sold, but they are hardly that. This seller gets shoes returned to the manufactu...

Well done Colleen! I would say that was a pretty successful race as a testing for the show in August. Not to mention, you ran this by feel. This tells me that you are more in tune w/ your body than you realize. Congrats!

Re: Favourite Apps for running, health, etc?

I pretty much just use MapMyRun for mapping distances of new running routes. It's good for my gang because we sometimes have different groups doing different distances so we can share a map with rendezvous points. You know you can create routes in Strava right? Just click on the "+" book ...

Re: Favourite Apps for running, health, etc?

I'm currently using Strava as well, as I've paired it to my Garmin Connect account. In the past, I've used MapMyRun (MMR). That was great for when I did not have a Garmin, as I could track my runs with the app. Since UnderArmor has taken it over, a number of the features I used to like (live trackin...

Getting it done at BMO, a tale of a new PB

The 3rd time is a charm! Now that I have had sometime to let the events of Sunday sink in, I feel it is time to reflect on that. Sunday was my 4th marathon and 3rd attempt at breaking my marathon PB, which ironically was set on May 6th, 2012; 5yrs plus a day to the date. Last year, I was better tra...

I have the utmost respect for Habs and knowing who she is, I take that comment with a grain of salt. So... using you analogy of ...

I wish I could find the FB (or was it Twitter) picture I saw from last Saturday's Diez Vista Ultra which is run by Gary's company, Ridgeline Events. There is a picture of Gary in the finishing area in a tent crashed out in a chair. just an FYI, it was absolutely miserable weather for the race last ...

Will likely register for one of the race, possibly both. I just need to make a decision on if I will be attempting my first ultra 2wks prior to the Vancouver Running Festival. I want to see how I feel after the BMO full before I pull the trigger on my ultra plans.

Interesting, don't you find your toes touching to the shoe when going downhill? I know it would likely be a sensory issue for me.

I normally wear size 11 in my every day shoes. I tend to wear size 12 for running; both road & trail. I can get away with 11.5 on the road, but will shy away from them when I get up there in the distance.
