Thursday never gets songs written about it...

... poor, unsung Thursday.

25 minutes plus warmup/cooldown. Happy that my pace was pretty consistent and my level of effort wasn't bringing me closer to death with every step.

Rest day tomorrow.

Rabbits! Wednesday Thread

40 minutes in the powdery snow, including warmup/cooldown. How is it Wednesday already?

Re: Back to Winter Tuesday

35 minute run (inc. warmup and cooldown). Hard to get my butt out there this morning, and needed an extra layer, but I did it. Slooooooow and steady.

Re: Spring-like Saturday

Great day for a run today. Managed 10K with the group at a nice easy pace. Biggest week since the helicopter accident last July. Soccer tonight. Awesome -- but now I'm going to have to search the archives for the helicopter story. Snowy Saturday in Toronto this morning -- 20 minutes easy with 5 min...

Re: Fighting Friday

Snow flurries here -- not enough to stay, just enough to look pretty. No running -- I get a rest day! Tomorrow marks the end of my first week of running my plan. It wasn't much in terms of mileage, but I feel like I accomplished something just making a plan and sticking to it. Thanks Garmin, for giv...

Thursday - Where is everybody?

If I'm starting the daily thread at 6:15 PM, it must be because everybody else is in Barbados or some other warm place, sipping fruity rum-based drinks, basking in the sun, and not running in the cold and dark. I ran in the cold and dark this morning, 20 minutes with 5 minutes each warmup and warmdo...

F________ Friday (call it what you will)

I couldn't come up with anything for today that was polite, so fill in the blanks.

Same run as yesterday and Monday, about 3K, 20 minutes, 4-and-1s. Lots of things on my mind, so it was good to be out on the street turning things over, making plans. Running = good.

Have a great weekend, folks.

Re: Tin Can Thursday

I was out for my little 3K, 4-and-1 jaunt around the neighbourhood. Baby steps. 2 degrees above 0 this morning at oh-dark-thirty -- so different from -5 or so on Monday!

Re: Sweat and Speed Tuesday

5K non-stop this morning -- left posterior chain is still bugging me, but stretching the hamstring and glute is helping a lot. I've been doing 6:1 and 7:1s almost exclusively, but I'm trying to do one run straight through every week as a test. Today's 5K was almost exactly 30 minutes, for a 5:59/km ...

10.7 km this morning, longest run of the comeback tour. And yoga is helping with the hamstring/glute medius issues. This probably only makes sense if you've been following me on the Facebook.

Re: Moist Monday . . .

Shins complained that I ran too far on Saturday, so I biked the MGT West to the Butterfly preserve and back East to The Beach. Not timing it or anything, just easy and steady. Maybe a run in the morning.

Re: Sunny Sunday

7K 'long' run, 10:1s. I had originally planned to run my 3K loop twice; beginner's fear of straying too far from home; desire to stay on flat ground and not deal with hill climbing so early in my bazillionth comeback. But something George Sheehan said about play v. work, running (or any sport) being...

Re: CK Cycle Fest Saturday!

Walking the dog for 30 minutes is a great warmup for a run! Did my 3K loop this morning and felt as strong in km 3 as I did at the start. Attitude had a lot to do with it: I started out feeling relaxed and strong, and was able to stay focused and happy while pushing forward and NOT thinking about pa...

5.25 km on a gorgeous June morning. Spent my run thinking about my Dad, and all the times he started over, like me. Bike ride planned with the fam this afternoon.

Biked to work. Is it wrong to still have runner envy when you're biking? Oh, and voted. So there's that.
