6k in breezy shorts weather...hard pace

6k @ 4min pace with a buddy. Strong crosswind this aft as we did a North-South out and back.

Weight training and a 2 k walk after supper to breath in some spring air...

12k at dusk, from Pharmacy down to the East Don ravine back up the ravine to Steeles and up the long hill to Don Mills etc. Bright moon in the east.

21k with RR in the sun. Cold north wind though after the turnaround...brr

11.5 k into the twilight. Chugged a little on the last 2k. Showered at the office and hit the highway.

16k later in the aft. 10 k road with some hills + 6k on snowy trail. Funny how your pace adapts to different terrain...

Kudos for toughing it out WGR! Not much relief on those roads once the sun got high and the shade dissappeared. Well done.

I trained hard and ran a 3:10 after turning 50 in 2009...paid for it with a sore achilles for the rest of the year.

So in 2010 the goal is recovery, strength and regaining the natural joy of getting out there on the trails and roads.

No races until I feel I have something to prove.

My favorite is the last one I've done and the next one coming up!

Most memorable would be the 25k Creemore vertical challenge in July, hearing the bagpipes in the distance, the hills, and soaking my legs in the ice cold Mad River.

Pierre...yes he's a really great guy, nice relaxed race atmosphere, and it's handy to have that river to soak your legs in after!

I stayed at my brother’s place up the hill from Creemore Friday night so I was up at 6 for a bite and out the door at 7. My 2 nephews and one of their girlfriends decided to run the 25k also so we drove down to Creemore together. It was cool with clouds scudding across the sky so we had now worries ...

So who can we expect to see at Creemore?

This year I joined Newmarket Huskies to work on speed. They do mostly track workouts.
