3.75k run/walk today. Slow and steady will make the comeback happen. One step at a time.

Question regarding streaks.
In the states, I know the minimum run that can be done to keep a streak alive is commonly defined as 1 mile. What is the standard for km's? Is it different?

Thanks, gives me a lot to think about. Especially, Mr. Grant's last statement as I also play softball which may make me think about the optimal fitness part.

Situps or pushups
I am just wondering, given the choice between the two; which exercise is more beneficial for a distance runner?

A Question
I am not quite where I need to be at this stage of my training. I have scheduled an 8k tempo run. I won't be able to do it. I will burn out at about 5k.
The question is this. Am I going to get more benefit out of a 5k tempo, or an 8k at a slower pace?

Re: Wednesday - Final Day of Movember
4k tempo run for me. At some point, my current tempo pace is going to have to start feeling a whole lot more comfortable if I want to reach the next level. I guess that is the challenge, isn't it?

Went for a really easy 6k, this morning. Will be working towards a faster 5k, as well the usual distance runs.

I guess I need to drop a bit more height, as apparently I have begun to shrink. And about 50 more lbs.

Been lazy so far today. Need to get out there later. Almost got out this A.M., but I really don't like running in rain.

Donald Finally Does the Run in The Great White North
After 3 years of attempting to do the run portion of The Great White North Triathlon as part of a team entry, I finally got to complete it. It was a warm, but not hot day in Stony Plain, as I awaited my cyclist to complete the bike portion of the triathlon. He was overdue by about 20 minutes from hi...

Team Entry for Great White North Triathlon
I am looking at putting together a team entry for the Great White North Triathlon in Stony Plain. My Son who had the ambulance accident in May of 2009 wants to do the swim as he is still on crutches, but has been practicing to swim the distance. I will do the run. However; that leaves a vacancy for ...

Re: It has been a Long Time
The french woman has found her first running pace. It is around 9:00 per km. (I won't tell her that I have another name for that pace; I call it a walk break) At least she is starting!!!!

It has been a Long Time
It has been a few years since I was a rookie runner. The french woman wants to learn, but she wants to start on the treadmill. What pace would you recommend she try for her early efforts? We can fine tune it after.

Re: So, Let's Ask the Right Question!!
Then what is going to get me an answer? I was told I was asking the wrong question, so what is the problem?? I am inquiring, but I don't get answers, just reprimands! At least I admit that I don't know what I am doing! But I guess no one wants to help! FINE!! And maybe that will make it my last ques...
