Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Oh, FP and IG, no fun on the no-sleepies! FP, you are one brave lady for contemplating Santa.

Well, the vibes were received...little Amelia was delivered by emergency c-section this am. 5 pounds, 4 oz, mom and baby both doing well. Yay!

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Hoping she has a really easy day. I was induced at 38 weeks with really high BP (luckily not preeclampsia) but spent from 35 weeks on back and forth at the hospital while they decided when to induce. They just needed to break my water and I was ready to roll (didn't need pitocin at all) and was don...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Two nights in a row of sleeping through the night. Of course, it didn't happen on its own, we worked for it. Hooray for sleep! I must confess, I am dreading the constant wake-ups once kiddo 2.0 arrives...It was a looooooong haul before A was a consistently good sleeper. Oh, and since postin...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

How big are our girls? V is about 24lb (at 21 months) and still wears some 12 month pants  . She is mostly in 18-24m clothes, though. At 23 months, Alex is just over 30 pounds and super tall. She's pretty much outgrown her 3T clothes, so 4T here we come! I guess this is what happens when 5&quo...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

I'm here and I'm running! Max 5-6k two or three times a week, but hey, at 29 weeks preggo, I'll take it! Definitely getting stared at now, though. :D I'm the first to admit I ain't exactly poetry in motion these days. This is the longest I've run into a pregnancy; with Alex I stopped at 28 weeks b/c...

Where is my preggo buddy JLA? i spotted her and hubby out running with the stroller along the canal a couple of weeks ago, so i know she's out there! I'm aliiiiiiive! Well, mostly. Just had a big conference in MTL followed by a huge post-doc application, so things have been...busy. Plus hubby''s jo...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Hip hip hooray for all the Hot Racing Mamas! Wow, wow, wow. And for the Hot Race-Ready Mamas (SHG, AndyM, who else did I miss?) cranking out the mega-mileage. As for the #2 peer pressure, I actually sort of felt the opposite. Maybe this is just the peculiar bias of academia, but by in large I've bee...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Argh, M & G falls smack in the middle of the kiddo's nap - but I will try! Also Carla...I live down the street from Marg. So if a race-day visit looks unlikely, we might be able to catch up on Saturday, depending on your plans. Girls' trip to get race kits, maybe?

Yep, plus I'm old, so it was time to get on with it! They will be just over 2 years apart - 26 months, to be precise. Same gap as D & D, no?

So, due dates, ladies?! JLA - you weren't pregnant when you were here then, were you?! Nope! Well, unless you count the first two weeks of pregnancy when you're not actually pregnant yet. If we're using that math, I was also "pregnant" when I ran the Ottawa half! I'm due Feb. 25, r...

JLA- it is not looking good for you when her first sentence is about nipples. Trust me (from one body-parkt-lovin-child momma to another), we are on a big "I have a little penis, daddy has a big penis, mommy and Marianne have 'ginas. Mommy, do you pee out your 'gina?" kick. Funny, but not...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

I am so jealous of all the moms who have toddlers with words! Today, John shoved away his breakfast, and didn't want any of the food I offered, nor did he want down. He just kept crying and shaking his head. Turns out he wanted a hug. Aw, this makes my heart hurt! But I bet you are a master of figu...

She's not a maniac, so there's no race report forthcoming, but the white skirt can be viewed (pre-puke) in my ORW album on FB! Jesse - I saw Team Meatball a little too late; I was on the opposite side of the road, hence the Charlotte-missing. You guys were delightfully loud, though! So, for those wh...

I'm happy with my race, even if I slowed somewhat in the second half. Chip time was 1:47:54, a PPPB by just over 2 minutes. I thought I might be able to chase down the 1:45 bunny, but it wasn't meant to be today. I should count myself lucky that I had such an uneventful run, though...a friend who c...
