Question about the Avatar

I just noticed that "Percy Williams" is displayed under my Avatar.
I'm sure it's not a setting that I did. Does anyone know why?
Thanks

Gosh, I miss running...

After a great summer in my first running year, the harsh winter arrived with nasty arctic air, filling up running paths with snow and ice, my running came to an end. I can't recall exactly when, but I started running less and less and stopped completely some time in early December. I feel lethargic ...

Re: UGH! I threw up after a 5k race this morning.

First, congratulations on your 5K. So was the vomiting caused by the extra effort and not caused by the Gatorade? I'm new to running, so far I only run early in the morning and also ran my first 5K in the morning as well. I've never eat before running and only drink a bit of water before running, no...

Report posted. :)

That's a good recap of a great run.
Is that where I'm supposed to post a thread about my run? Sorry I didn't know and posted my first run in this forum. Got too excited.

Re: First 5K!

Thank you every one for your encouragements and support. Yes, this is the run I will remember forever. It is great to be able to do this with my son, he already talked about running a Marathon, I suggest we take it slowly. Another 5K then start training for 10K. This is a great forum, I owe this suc...

Re: First 5K!

Congrats! There may have been lots of people in front of you, but I bet if you had turned around, you'd have seen just as many behind you. :) Thanks ultraslacker. Yes there were a lot of people behind me as well, I think I was at about the middle of the pack. We had a great time and felt really goo...

Re: First 5K!

Congratulations! Well done!! :) Thanks Ken B. I'm very proud of my son, he was hanging on with that cramp to cross the finish line. He frequently has an abdominal cramp when running, he often needed to walk home half way through our morning jog. He doesn't eat before the morning run, he stretches m...

First 5K!

My son and I ran our First ever 5K this morning. I finished at 29 min. 14 sec, my son had a cramp and slowed down but he was still able to finish at 32 min. 24 sec. I know these times are not great times as I saw a lot of people ahead of me, but I'm very proud for the both of us because we just star...

I'm so impressed with all these long distances. I can barely make the 3.2km trail every morning. I registered for my first 5K in 3 weeks and I just hope I can make it to the finish line.

Re: Introduction

Thanks again for all the responses. I found a 5K program that's easy to follow so my son and I started to use it this week, we're been running for over 6 weeks now so we've jumped into week 4 of the training program. I found a 5K run in about 4 weeks that we want to register for. On the registration...

Yes, it was cold and windy. I had to get the toque and gloves for my morning 6:30 run. Cold yesterday too.

Re: Introduction

Thank you everyone for your replies and advices, very helpful. I'm going to look at all the 5K program and pick 1 to follow. Regarding stretching, I used to play a lot of sports in my younger days so I know quite a few stretching exercizes and I do a lot of stretching before running since day 1, so ...

I just started running and have a few questions about it, so I thought there wouldn't be any better place to ask these questions than in a forum, and I googled up "running forum" and found this website right away.
