Re: Snowing Sundae!!!!

Ah yes, sundae Sunday. I'm going for a long one, up and down Mont Royal, the hillier the better, last really long run before Leg 5 of the Cabot Trail!!

Heck, it will probably be snowing in Baddeck so this is perfect training weather. High of 6 today, with rain and snow... :D

Re: RayMan's Boston Report

You put so much heart and so much enthusiasm into this race, and race report, I'm sure the good vibes will stay with you forever. Boston marathon supporters are pros! Even the kids are stars. They make each runner feel like a hero. I can still recall who I ran with, the musicians, the faces, and the...

Re: George's Boston Marathon

George - Sounds like you had an awesome Boston experience, though a tough race. You are a poster boy, twice over!!!

Marathons are, notoriously, hard on the muscles, so maybe 10K and 1/2marathons are a good solution!

You've run Boston!! Congratulations!!!

Re: Parade Friday

Today there is a parade in Montreal with the olympic athletes. No run for me but I will walk from Gare Centrale to the Pepsi Forum, (about 1.4 miles), then walk the parade route (1.7K) and back to the station. Figure that counts for something. They invited torchbearers in the area to take part in t...

Thanks, RAy! Congratulations on a great race, and thanks for sharing those pics and stirring up so many awesome memories of being on that course. Sure looks like you had beautiful weather, like in 2008. 2007 was another story altogether!

Re: Lisa's spring race thread

A very solid effort in miserable conditions. And you're right about the wind picking up near the end. I too felt colder and less motivated. I think you just like it hotter, Lisa. And when you're having fun, you run better. I'm sure there are lots of great races coming up ahead soon! Summer is a comi...

Hermes @ Scotiabank Half marathon

This was my fifth half marathon, and my second fastest! Kinda surprising. In 2007, I ran a slightly different course Scotiabank half and had a time 5 minutes slower! That was my last half marathon. April 2007. And, that was the spring after my Boston qualifying 2006 Philly marathon, and I had been b...

I found yesterday's race pretty crowded - great preparation for NCM! It will be crowded there, but you will be hungry and focused!

See you soon, I hope.

Way to go, Sister! Sounds like you had a comfortable and fun run - icky conditions considered. Well done on the PB! Good luck on NCM, that's a slightly tougher one and your hill training will come in handy. Wish I'd stuck around to hang with you guys. Are you doing Mont St-Bruno this year?

Windy, chilly, rainy 5K this morning! I'm kinda hoping we'll have nicer weather for the ScotiaBank half-marathon in Montreal on, what? April 18? 10 days to go, boys and girls. Happy 4-year anniversary, Ceiligh. Had a great 2-hour run in a different part of Montreal - a park on the West Island: Bois de Liesse and Bois Franc... and it felt like very good preparation for the Montreal 1/2 marathon which I'll be running in 2 weeks! What a beautiful day, and so lucky to have ru...

Nice but slow 19K run yesterday. My longest run since Boxing Day! I'm feeling like I"m heading for a slow Montreal 1/2 marathon, but heck, I like to run! That's good enough for my goals. :)
Happy Monday!

Well, that was my wettest, coldest longish Sunday run in ages. Was visiting the folks in Toronto and did my usual run along the beltline from the Spadina Expressway to Yonge / Davisville, through Mount Pleasant cemetery to Bayview and up to Moore, where I grabbed some water, turned around and went m...
