Re: Boston 2015 Field size

Congrats Lisa! Yes, I am in too. :D Thank goodness, as I've burned up about all my nerves for today and probably given myself carpal tunnel syndrome refreshing the BAA entrants page as well as my email!

Re: Boston 2015 Field size

I sit and wait :( patience Me too!! How much time do you have in the bank? I've beat my qualifying standard by 1:49. On pins and needles! I'm -3:04 so I have a bit of room, and am pretty confident. Would just like to see my name on the entrants list though! BTW - I think your -1:49 is good. 3:04 so...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

I always (and still do) slow down over curbs, and i tend to stick to a route that has long stretches of smooth new sidewalk and minimal up/downs when I run with the stroller. Bonus is that it connects with a bike path so that's perfect stroller running! And you are a queen of stroller running! I mi...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

What do you mean "tipped their baby"? Did the whole stroller fall over or did the seat fall out? Isn't there an adapter that holds it in? The whole stroller fell over. Yes, the adapter snaps the bucket to the stroller and there are also straps that additionally strap over the bucket. I al...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

I agree with scrummy that the official recommendation is that the car seat adapter not be used for running. If you can't use the car seat adapter it means you have to wait until your baby is big enough and has enough head control to sit and be strapped into the regular stroller. For us, that was abo...

Re: Jwolf's "Run for Water" Marathon

Congratulations on another marathon even if it didn't result in the time goal you were hoping for. Don't think it was for nothing. You ran another freakin' marathon!!!! And you are stronger today than you were at the start of your training. No one can take that from you. :)

Re: 2015 BAA 5K

Thanks all! I've sent the BAA an email to ask. I'm hoping it's on Sunday. The bf plans to run the 5K and I'm hoping to get into the marathon. It would really help for planning purposes if I knew what days I needed the hotel for! I booked today assuming that the 5K will be Sunday. It will be my first...

Congratulations on completing #10! It's always disappointing to miss our goals. But you'd set a lofty, albeit achievable one which is admirable. Keep up the positive attitude. It sounds like you will achieve that goal very soon. Would calf strengthening help any? I have no idea as I haven't experienc...

Re: ORW for NMG . . .

Spring races can be so difficult with that chance that the conditions will be hot. We had such a cold, long winter of training and now it finally gets hot in a hurry. So cruel. You did well to stick it out though. I hope you are feeling better and recovered. Congrats!

6th Times a Charm - AndyM BQ's in Ottawa

I haven't written a race report in quite some time and have been kinda sparse on the threads in recent years. Parenting, working and life in general seem to take up most of my time leaving just enough time left for some running. But I feel like this one deserves a report. I hadn't run a marathon in ...

I had a baby! For those not on FB, Felix was born on Tuesday by scheduled c section and was 6lb 8oz. My OB told everyone in the OR about my running up until the end - I guess my abdominals made it hard to get baby out! Recovery is going well and enjoying some time off my feet! Congrats again scrumm...

Great to hear how everyone is doing! I'll admit to being jealous at missing out on the spring racing season this year! I'm 38 weeks and still waddling along. Once I passed 36 weeks or so, I decided that sheer stubbornness was going to get me right to the end! Oh my goodness scrummy. You are so clos...

Hey Ladies, Just thought I'd share an interesting article I came across today. It was reassuring to know that...

Major victory in my books today! Baby*Smiles is 7lbs 10oz now! I worried he wasn't putting on weight and he is doing great! For those that don't know, he has Down syndrome and weight gain is a real concern for the development. I was wanting him to gain and he did  Other than that concern thi...
