Re: Suggestions for first 1/2 marathon in Toronto/GTA

I ran my first half at Hamilton Marathon Road 2 Hope on November 2. I really like this race (I did the 10k there last year).

Re: Marathon Sunday

Congrats to all those who had a great race today. Unfortunately not great for those of us cheering in front of the incident in Hamilton today. My thoughts go out to his family. http://www.thespec.com/news-story/4956769-runner-dies-after-collapsing-at-road2hope-finish-line/ I ran the half there toda...

First Half in 4 Weeks, now Groin Injury

I have had a groin injury for 2 weeks. I still ran 16k last Saturday and it wasnt bad, but has gotten worse in the last couple of days. Thinking of skipping my 16k run on Saturday. Really hoping this can get better in time.

Re: Garmin 220

I have heard issue with this watch with pace accuracy-- apparently not as good as some of the other watches, but best if you use lap pace. I am still waiting for the perfect watch that can send data by bluetooth to my phone. I hoped this was it, but not yet. :) Thanks for this bit of information. D...

Re: Garmin 220

Thank you everyone.

Yes, the strap adds $50 to the overall price, so they'res no point if I'm not going to use it.

I know they'res a purple/white option which I like, but I worry about how filthy the white will become.

Also checked Costco, but they don't have the newer Garmins.

Garmin 220

So I asked my husband for a new Garmin for my Bday this week. Everywhere I look, except on the Garmin site, folks seem to be selling the 220 heart rate monitor only. I definitely do not want a heart rate monitor as I hate those straps.

Anybody else have this experience?

Re: Prior Gastrocnemius Tear

Thanks very much for your advice.

My tear also came out of the blue. I think that is what also scares me.

I will try not to worry.

Prior Gastrocnemius Tear

Hello, I am wondering if there are others out there who have experienced a tear. I had a tear 8 weeks after starting running last year. I took 2 months off and did physio including laser treatments. I have now been running again for almost 10 months, but I am very aware of any pain occurring in the ...

Re: Some GTA racing news!

Wondering if I'm missing something. Looks like they have removed the half marathon from the Downsview race. All I see is the 5k. Is it just me? They moved it up to September Just found this on their website: Due to construction at the Downsview airport and traffic issues in Downsview Park, we have ...

It also happened in a previous GT2000 model. I really should have known better.

Any point in buying metatarsal inserts?

I bought a new pair of Asics GT2000 today. Took them out for a very short run tonight and I experienced pain in my left metatarsals which got worse as I continued to run.

Wondering if anybody else has experienced same and whether it is worth buying the cushioned inserts or not?

Thanks,

Lynda
