I think you need to get Mable out of the closet, and bring her back to life. I'm sure most runners whom ran past her , enjoyed the moments it took their mind off the race.
I too liked her right from the beginning.

Wow!!! Awesome!!!!! Congrats!!!!! You are truly a running machine.... To be able to train in cool Canada, and then go finish the hottest marathon so far this year is truly remarkable. I'm excited for you. The time wasn't important yesterday, it was getting to the finishline safely. Glad to hear that...

Not sure if you were following her or not. Just checked the results, and our friend Chantel finished in net time 0f 3:51:18, and gun time of 3:56:29.
Considering what she has gone thru lately with her Dad passing and all, I hope that she will be happy with this.

Re: Sunday running
I haven't posted in here for a long time. Ran 4 X4 and 1's with my Learn to Run clinic ladies, then decided to run home. It took me 50 minutes and 50 seconds, not sure how far, doesn't matter, just felt so inspired to run today. I had read that Dylan had ran a 2:10:47, and the excitement carried me ...

Being a race volunteer
Okay. I've been a race volunteer for more years than I need to mention. Today at Winnipeg's Hypothermic 1/2 I saw a very strange to me, situation. We have 3 waves with abour 230 in each one. We need to cap it, as the restaurant that has an AWESOME brunch can only hold 250. Well I got there after wav...

Kudo's to the Rick Hansen Foundation for running such an organized event. Enjoyed meeting, and getting my uniform from our host Jake. Our bus driver Ross had a wonderful sence of humour as well. The 10 other people who were part of my shuttle were awesome. Everyones story was very touching, and uniq...

Running Rick's Relay Saturday
Yes I'm up early today. I'm running a leg of the Rick Hansen 25th Anniversary Relay today. I'm very hyper and excited to have been chosen to do this. Our cold spell isn't as bad as it was for the past few days, so all should be good. I'm thinking the strong emotions will work so I won't really feel ...

Doc First Congrats on #5. Running while battling a cold the week before a major race, can be a BYTCH. I'm sorry to read that this happened to you. Happy that your Dad was there to give you the support, and encourgement when needed. I'm sure that you can taste that under 5 milestone, and even more su...

Re: Protocol for passing on a race course?
While it is hard to run with hearing aids, the sign on her back will help people to give her a bit more space hopefully. I have a tendency to hug the left side of the road, as this is my worst ear. There have been times when people have passed on this side and I have not heard them to the point that...
