I think figuring out shoes is trial and error for most people. The RR told me I was an over-pronator when I bought my first pair of shoes, so I ran in stability shoes for the first little while. They were ok, but I found them a little too clunky. Now I'm running in a neutral shoe with very little cu...

Trail runner has a 'Destinations' section on their website with articles about different places: http://www.trailrunnermag.com/article_list.php?id=2 Last summer I got to run in Montana, Idaho, Utah, and Arizona, and it was all awesome, but my favorite was Utah. SLC was a great jumping off point- man...

i'm up late studying for my last final. freedom comes in 8 hours! might go for an easy trail run this afternoon if i'm not too tired.

Hi. Nobody will like this suggestion, but it might help a lot.

Get rid of the NRR forum. If somebody wants to start their own RunningManiaSocial.com forum, then NRR conversations and arguments can stay there and keep this site free of it.

i'm all about sugar snap peas, baby carrots, and broccoli for study snacks. it's especially fun to eat them on the 'quiet' floors of the library.

I think only 13 people have been killed by cougars in North America since 1910 so your probably fairly safe. but all of those are in the west, yeah? A few years ago a runner in Canmore was killed by a cougar. I looked into this stuff a while ago. Here's what I found: Grizzly: play dead. atta...

If the bandit doesn't use course aid stations and doesn't restrict anyone from running their race, then I really couldn't give a carp about them. I don't see anything wrong with it. But this is coming from a guy who sneaks into movies at the megaplex every week and actually feels good about it. :twi...

best way to get fast for a 5k

I'm reg'd for a 5k 8 weeks from sunday. At present I'm not fast at all, but I'd like to change that. One training plan I found was Hal Higdon's 5k intermediate plan ( http://www.halhigdon.com/5K%20Training/5-Kinter.htm ), but I really don't know whether it's gonna be any good for me. I guess I'm loo...

thanks for the kind offer, Andy, but I prefer NEW insoles. No offence... ;)

Shortie, I'm not sure how I'll be able to use duct tape to solve this one, but I do admit that duct tape usually solves my blistering problems. Thanks for the tips guys :)

how to keep my insoles inside my shoes?

i got a new pair of shoes and the thin insole in the left shoe keeps coming out. As i run it slowly inches its way up behind my heel until it's high enough to rub my achilles. I'm then forced to take the shoe off and reposition the insole. Except for this little glitch, the shoes are great- best I'v...
