Inspirational running songs?

I'm looking for new songs to add to my playlist, and I have some songs, while not about running, amuse me, and keep me moving along. Eg. Moving Along by the All American Rejects ("even when your hope is gone, move along, move along, just to make it through"). I don't really care about beat...

Tread pattern

I'm thinking of changing shoes so I was looking at the tread pattern on them. I don't have too many foot/leg/back issues and I don't run really long distances so most shoes that I've run in felt fine. I was told I overpronate by someone at a running store, but looking at my wear pattern and googling...

Re: This happens right?

I wasn't going very hard, close to normal pace and a distance I normally run. My pelvic floor has been weakened by multiple pregnancies, though normally, it's not really a problem. If anything, I probably didn't pee close enough to the start...much to my regret!

This happens right?

I was running in a local 5k today and peed my pants!!! This has never happened to me before. I didn't even realize I had to go that bad, but started to leak, and then it was like my bladder gave up all control. Fortunately, no spectators on that part, and I just stopped and stepped to the side (gras...

Runner catches thief!

I don't follow this forum much, but thought other runners would like this story :)

Ok to stock up on shoes?

Hello Shoe question...Is it ok to stock up on running shoes even if they may not be used for several months or more? I don't need new shoes yet, but probably later in the year. I vaguely remember reading that it may not be the best idea, but can't remember. However, the shoes I wear are on sale, and...

Re: Adding a run

Thanks for all the suggestions. My plan is to add 1 run, and then slowly make that 4th run a longer run. Say I keep my schedule of MWF...is it better to make that long run on Sat (so I have more rest before running again), or on Sun, so I have a rest day before the longer run? I know the best answer...

Adding a run

Hi

I would like to add a run to my week (currently, I run MWF). I read that I should only increase mileage about 10% total per week. But right now, I only run about 9 miles per week. So does that really mean I should start with my additional run at 1 mile or so?

Thanks

Re: Cross training

Haha, I thought I would start with 15 min Core, but could hardly make it through 5. So nowhere to go but up at least :p.

Re: Cross training

Great suggestions, I just downloaded the free version of sworkit, and it looks great! I like how it times you and gives you a video demo so it looks pretty easy to follow. Thank you!

Re: Cross training

I do have time in the evenings usually after 9, so I think I can still add another activity in addition to runs I'm really tempted to try to do a 1/2 marathon next year (the longest race I've ever done is 10K, but a 1/2 is on my bucket list) so I'm wondering what I can do to work towards that (besid...

Re: Cross training

Thanks for replying. No, I'm not doing anything else right now. I'm kind of looking for a "best bang for my buck" activity...and hopefully it won't involve going to the gym! I have 3 little kids so I have to find pockets of time to do things. Right now, I run early morning or at lunch time...

Cross training

Hello I'm purely a recreational runner (5K a few times a week or so), but I'd like to perhaps do some cross training. I don't swim, and I have been considering biking (probably for the most part on a stationary bike as I am fair weather runner/rider :)) What are the other types of things do people d...
