Re: Canadian Death Race
It is expensive, but seems to be filling up faster and faster each year, so I guess that's why they can increase the fees. I live here, so that's why I enter every year. In the last few years the town has really gotten behind the race and the whole town is now taken over by "Death Fest" wi...

Re: Canadian Death Race
It's not an easy place to travel to, but there are always racers who carpool from both Edmonton and Grande Prairie. Check the Facebook site if you can - there are usually lots of posts about carpooling closer to race date. And if it came to it, I wouldn't let anyone I knew of miss the race - I'd com...

Re: Canadian Death Race
I live here in Grande Cache, so I am doing the race again with my usual team. There is an option to register as "join a team" and they will place you on a team. If you are serious about registering you should do so ASAP as registration opened New Years Day and it's close to full already ev...

I am running the Vancouver Full as my first marathon as well, and am also nervous!! My training was going very well until a floor hockey incident that left me with damaged ligaments in my ankle for most of March. I managed 1-2 short runs a week with lots of physio, but nowhere near what my schedule ...

I think all of you soloists are crazy!! Amazing, inspiring, but still crazy! I ran leg 1 last year and had a ton of fun. This year I ran leg 4 - and it was sooo tough (for those that don't know it's 38km, 6500ft elevation change)! I can't imagine doing 65kms before heading up Hamel! Good luck next y...

My husband is a forestry worker in the bush every day working mostly alone. His company just got this system in the last month or so. Every day at noon I get an email with a google map link that shows me exactly where he is in the bush - very cool!! The email also includes exact latitude and longitu...

Just received this email from the Death Race people: Hi, I know you are all anxious to see this year's results. We are presently working on them and hope to have them posted online at the end of the day. Also, for those of you who did not receive your plaques at the awards ceremony, please accept ou...

Death Race Leg 1 Report
I was asked a couple of weeks ago to join a relay team for the Death Race as one of their members was unable to run for them. I was very nervous because I am not familiar with the trail at all! (Although I live here I do my runs on the roads since I am always running alone.) Leg 1 is 19K and has a l...

I ordered a picture, or at least I think I did, from TPS from the Calgary Stampede 10K. I entered my credit card info and then I received a 'confirmation' email that is unreadable. I have emailed the company 3 times since then to find out if they actually have my order or not and I haven't gotten an...

Any RM Death Racers this year?
So are there any maniacs coming to Death Race this year?? I'm pretty sure I saw a couple of people with it in their sigs.
I'm doing Leg 1 with a local team, and my kids are doing the Kids Death Race. I'll be volunteering somewhere along the Kids race course.

Running itself has never caused me any "poop" issues, but last week I caught a virus and then ran a race on Sunday while still suffering the "runs". It was easily the worst run of my life and if my DH hadn't been running with me I would have just layed down in a ditch and waited for rescue. I cannot...
