Re: Coming Soon: Creemore 100 Mile Challenge!

I will also not be attending, came back from JFK50 and it seems that my foot is having some issues, going to see if something is broken.

Hope everyone has a great time in Creemore.

Re: Hamilton Marathon _Road2Hope_Review_PB

Hey Windy, Thanks for the great draft during parts of the course. :D I followed you for quite some time on top of the escarpment prior to heading down and then some along the beach. Nice race, not sure I would agree with the trail part, I found those hills are bit awkward. I have another week to res...

Re: Amazing Badwater report

I just got back from crewing Dave Carver from London this year. This race is epic and I understand after seeing it first hand, wh people do anything it takes to get it done. It is an awesome race, crazy heat and hills. It has become my new goal in my running career.

Just signed up for the 100 k. That is going to hurt.

Messed up my knee at Sulphur, fell hard early in the race, need another few days to heal.

Re: Heed vs Perpetuem for Ultra Races

Interesting thread. I have always used Infinit as it has calories and salt in it. I must say that caps and water is something that I have never tried but it does have a lot of benefits, mixed drinks are really hard to carry and a pain to mix during a race when you are not really with it. I have used...

Re: Run Woodstock Trail Races

I did the "No WImp" challenge there a couple of weeks ago, same park and trails. It was awesome, the trails are tough and quite technical. Lots of nice forest and steep inclines. I am thinking about the 50 Miler, will see how the year goes. Races are real cheap which is a good thing.

Re: Sulphur Springs Trail Run

Time for a intervention for UltraQueenga.

Something to snap you out of running ultras, like putting you on a treadmill and forcing you to watch Jerry Springer for a day..... :D

I am going to do the 50 k and then cheer people on.

Re: “StoMp the Mega Quarry” Marathon (and half, 10/5K) July

Hmm, I wonder what the medal will be???? Maybe a rock on a string?? :x Warning, serious political rant coming. Don't take it the wrong way. "Not to poke fun of the cause, but if we stop every quarry, landfill, gas plant etc in this province, how are we going to have economic growth and keep the...

Re: Race Stats

Nice tool,

Last year at the Toronto marathon I had my calf pop on me at 5 k. Walked a long time after that and then decided to try and run. After 30 k, I passed 100 people and no one passed me. Funny looking result.

I think the new course will be faster, may have to give it a shot if I can recover from double race weekend the week before.

Re: Niagara Ultra 100k, 50k, Marathon & Half Marathon

I have never done this race, I think I will take a shot at the marathon here, maybe the 50.

Does anyone know if the "tourists" are an issue in the 50 k as the course goes to the falls? I know when I go there it is quite congested.

Thanks

Re: Will the marathon record fall in Tokyo?

The whole thing was on TV on Sportnet 1, channel 99, if you have Rogers. It was the first time I watched an entire marathon on TV, Haile was terrible at the end. His time has come and gone, unfortunately he is not willing to admit it. Is already talking about running next month to get his spot. The ...

Re: Indoor Ultra for 2012 - Excited to see it back

That was a tough race today. Nice to meet some Running Mania people out there today.

I started cramping at 4 hours and that made for a tough final 2 hours. Two marathons/ultras in six days, time to rest up the legs, at least until the Beast 50 miler in two weeks.

The correct term would be drafting...... Need someone to motivate me along in the challenge. Aiming for 80 this time around, last year I gave up after 70 runs.

NYC 2011

NYC, what can you say, it is one amazing event. Got in through the lottery this year, had not really planned on going this year but so glad that I did. Got to NY on Friday, went to the expo, spent the evening/night out on the town. Times Square is just amazing at night. Saturday was a long day, Time...

Re: Changes to Guaranteed Entry to NYC Marathon

New York has now become like London, impossible to get in and greedy. They are just looking to make more money with the lottery. Most people will not be able to qualify as those standards are just crazy. They will charge everyone the 8 or 9 dollars to enter the lottery and keep making money. I am ru...

Ran the course this morning, nice and dry. May get a bit wet later this week. The leaves are coming down so you have to watch the rocks and roots.

Good luck to everyone running, I am signed up for the 25 k but may just volunteer instead as I have Scotia the next day.

Wow, Canalrunner, I am the last person to say something because of a person weight. As a former very large individual, that is not what I intended. If it came across that way, my apologies. The issues with Ford is HIS blatant disregard for other people, he puts down running, cycling and we al...
