Race Update, Sorry for not Posting a race update early but the race did not go well. It was a very cold and windy day, not the greatest running conditions but still manageable. There were a ton of racers there and lots of friends to cheer on my co-worker and myself. Warm-up was short as I arrived a ...

Wow, thank you for all the great advice so far. Here is a little more info on what I have been doing. Most of my training has been between 5 and 10k runs. I usually try to beat my previous best on every other run. No tempo runs, no repeats and no hill or speed work. All of which I am being to see as...

Need Help improving my 5K time

Hi Everyone, I haven't posted in a very long time. But I need some help. I have been trying to improve my 5K time for a while now. I have it down to about a 25:30 but I just can't seem to break that. ( I did hit a 23:55 once but it was down hill and the wind was at my back) There is a Race on March ...

Wow the quarter on Saturday and the half on Sunday. I am tired just thinking about it. Nice time on the half. :) I was there running the 5k, (bib# 724) I didn't wear my RM gear as I didn't think my effort would do the logo proud. I heard there were a few other Maniacs here as well. Congrats again Al...

Has anyone bought shoes/equipment off ebay?

Just wondering, I am looking at a pair of ASICS MENS GEL NIMBUS VII - Brand New from the states. Price plus shipping costs would come to just under $85 canadian. Sportchek is selling them for $129.99 plus tax! Do you have to pay duty or canadian taxes on stuff from the states? What have been your ex...

But if the 27.8% number is close to right, clearly your 198 pounds is not all muscle.. It is, I am just storing it as fat until I need it  Seriously though I have weight 195-199LBS for the last 3 1/2 years. I gained 30+ LBS with the birth of my first Daughter and haven't been able to dr...

Another forced rest day for me. I cut my leg on Saturday night., well more of a scrap and a bruise. While on a 7k training run I ran into a fire hydrant...( I know). I was admiring another female runners speed ( really, it was her speed that I was interested in she was very fast). She was across th...

Way to go Lesley, it has been great reading all your ups and downs leading up to this race. I am very impressed and jealous. You almost want to make me run a half ( almost, 5k is still kicking my butt).

Congrats

Interval night with my coach. I was worried. Last time I did intervals it was at the track on base with Aaron in the car waiting and I bombed! In fact, I stopped running them less than half way through and just did a easy run after that. That was 2 weeks ago... So tonight, I was nervous about my pe...

Noticed Since I Started Running

Has anyone else notice more "stuff" about running since they started running? Like TV ads, Articles in the paper, signs about up coming races? For Example, I have an issue of Men's Health Magazine. I've had it since Feb/March. I've read it cover to cover many times since then. I just noticed there i...
