Re: Scotiabank and San Francisco Sunday

I'm baaaack. Anyone miss me? anyone notice I was gone? Excited to follow the Toronto people today. I'm just trying to get back into things. Going for a 5 km run-walk. My goal is to keep at that until I am running the whole way and then build up the distance.

Inspired by reading about you all, I made it to Goodlife for the lunch hour (45 minute) Body Pump. May not sound like much, but considering what I've done lately--it's BIG!

Re: Talk to me about Lulu bras....

I am looking at the Lulu bras, but not for running per se. It looks like I may have to take that horrible course, and I wanted a bra to wear to the field and stuff like that. I use Moving Comfort for running, but I don't want a compression bra for wearing 24 hours a day for a week in the dirt. I am...

These--spicy chocolate cinnamon shortbread--are so good that I'm not sure it's safe for me to make them again. You could leave out the cayenne to make them a little more kid friendly..... http://www.canadianliving.com/food/spicy_chocolate_cinnamon_shortbread.php I've been having great luck with the ...

Re: Lululemon for Running

went to Eaton's Centre today and bought Run: Empower crops (with the purple details) and a couple of TTT's. I have the old version of the Empowers and I just realized I've had them for at least 5 years. They've done a lot of miles and they're still in great shape. So I could have just stuck with the...

Re: Worst running store chain ever?

I've had my frustrations with the Running Room, but the bottom line for me is that I wouldn't have started running without them. Learn to Run was the best thing I did in my adult life, besides marry the sweetest man in the world. Sure I bought some things along the way that I could have gotten cheap...

Re: Up for an August Mileage Challenge?

I'm basically starting from scratch again. I'd be happy to see 100k. Good luck Ang! I'm not exactly starting from scratch (although not too far off!) but I would be ecstatic to see 100K for August. As long as I train slow and steady, I'm confident I will reach/surpass this goal. I'm with the two of...

nice easy 4 miler from my in-law's suburb to the next one. Hit a bush reserve with a sign that read something like "warning: snakes have been seen in this reserve." Realized I have no idea what to do if I see anything other than a garter snake. Every twig looked wriggly to me, so I picked ...

Wow, that's a big assignment! I know that I love the necklace I got for my women's half. Is there a way you could get a class to make some kind of memento to hand out at the finish line? Might be a way to build up anticipation for the event and get fuller participation?

Well, there are two ways to look at my "race" yesterday. A personal worst...or a living-with-colitis personal best. I'm going back and forth between disappointment and pride. This is a lovely race. Plenty of organizers on the course, friendly, firefighter water stations, a chocolate statio...
