Zone testing in Calgary

A friend of mine just ran his second 1/2 marathon in 1:28 now he has been bitten by the bug and wants to do a full.

Does anyone know a good place in Calgary to get lactate zones and VO2 max testing?

He smoked this one too!!! He is amazing. Armstrong ends Wiens' reign as Leadville 100 champ By ARNIE STAPLETON – 5 hours ago LEADVILLE, Colo. — Lance Armstrong can't remember the last time he raced 65 miles by himself. "I don't know, maybe when I was a young, young kid," he said. "You would never do...

You are going to love it. Very simple to set up and use. I think they may have the door anchors at Twist conditioning on the North Shore.

TRX Trainer-HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I read alot about this piece of equipment in the past and saw that all kind of athletes including endurance athletes were raving about it. So, I got trained on it for one session and bought one to have at home. I can't say enough about it and the good thing is it lessens the time I need to be at the...

Pretty interesting today at the running class we did with this guy who write for RW. He was talking as well about how most of us have such week muscles in the bottom of our feet because of so much support in our shoes over the years. He strongly recommended spending some time barefoot and running on...

Contador's comment that "he never had respect for Lance and he never will", IMHO would be no different than a guy like Crosby coming in, playing with Lemieux and saying the same thing. That comment really has me puzzled. As far as going to the celebration party, if there was that much animosity betw...

A couple of comments from Lance. I'd love to know what was said in March that he's talking about. "Seeing these comments from AC. If I were him I'd drop this drivel and start thanking his team. w/o them, he doesn't win." "hey pistolero, there is no "i" in "team". what did i say in March? Lots to lea...

"I have never had admiration for him and I never will". Nice touch. http://www.velonews.com/article/96109 I don't know man... even the normally Lance-adoring US media is raking him over the coals for his egregious sportsmanship in this race. You don't announce you're forming a new team on the eve o...

He had nothing to gain by attacking yesterday other than pad his lead Champions do what it takes to win. He has nothing to learn. Worship Armstrong all you want... he ain't making the podium in Paris. I'm guess he'll lose about 2-3mins on Ventoux to the Schlecks. Contador's new team will have a DS ...

I wonder what the excuse was in the first climb stage when he took off? Where was the communication difficulty there?

there was no direction from Bruyneel to go. He's the "coach". If you are on his team, you listen to him. Bruyneel is working for Lance, not his "team". That's the problem with your logic here. You know what Bruyneels nickname is? "Mr Clean". But that goes against the title of this thread so I'll le...

I haven't seen Lance make any excuses or judgements that anyone else on the tube ,including the commentators and other riders didn't question as well regarding Contador's questionable attacks. He even came right out and said he wasn't as strong as the younger guys and when asked about Contador leavi...

There's an interesting Alexander Wolff piece on the Sports Illustrated website right now about the differences between American and European views on doping in cycling. A must-read indeed, especially for North Americans. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/the_bonus/07/07/tour/index.html ...

Fascinating article, and it highlights the cultural differences in the sport; Europe vs. USA. An interesting thought came to me when I read it - isn't this like the NFL? THanks for that David. Or Major League baseball. I continue to find it interesting when players test positive for steroids and th...

Lance was by far the most tested athlete from 1999 to 2005. The media dug through their team's trash, looking for evidence of cheating. Riders from other teams accused him of doping, and sometimes so did former staff members who'd left the team (some of them after being paid by reporters for their s...

Up in Whistler yesterday, I bought a book called "We Might As Well Win" by Johan Bruyneel.(named for what he told Lance when he first decided to coach him). Really good read so far. He certainly is as competitive as Lance and you can see why they mesh so well. The chapter I'm reading currently talks...
