Re: running bra too big??

Hah, sounds like me for sure. The other thing, Does Lululemon only sell smaller sizes? I remember going into the store and nothing was bigger than size 12. Mind you, I am smaller now but I have a tendency to buy bigger especially in the rear area. I am getting more comfotable with more fitted items,...

Your title is anything but "Eerie". It is about a caring, unselfish human being. Your report brings emotion and warmth.

I have met you only once and hoping to met you again in the future Laura.
I hope that surgery will allow you to continue in your athletics in whatever shape that brings.

Re: running bra too big??

Wow, I guess I do need a proper fitting for a running bra. I couple of years ago, I realized I wasn't wearing the right size for my regular bra. I first thought there was no way I was a D cup. But who wants your girls spilling out the sides and over the top. I thing I will go to Running Free in Mark...

Re: running bra too big??

Seems I have it all wrong!!! I am assuming that none of you wear just plain bra tops without clasps in the back. That would be my problem.
I think a visit to a website is in order, then I will to in person.
Any opinions on Moving Comfort bras?

running bra too big??

So, any run over 30 minutes and I get a rash/burn under the bra line. I tend to buy my clothes larger but would a more "fitted" top erase the chafing? Sometimes the elastic feels like it is moving away from the skin. Otherwise I don't feel uncomfortable in the bouncing category, lol. My si...

Re: Longest training plan

thanks for the input. My 2 cents" Do not be afraid to have cut back weeks or extra rest days or not add those miles when the program tells you to do so. I would treat any program not as the bible but as a guide. FOR SURE When I was first returning, I was using the time method for the "long...

Re: Longest training plan

Building slowly is a good idea, and worrying about pace later. Your time frame seems fine. One caveat though-- sooner rather than later, I would try to get your short runs up to about 30 minutes. Shorter than 20 minutes and you really aren't building all that much fitness. Even at a fairly slow rat...

Re: Longest training plan

I want to SLOWLY increase mileage by running 4 times a week. Currently I am doing 1.5 miles and the long run was 4 miles. Eventually I want one of the mid-week runs to be longer than the other two, probably Friday's run. I should be at 19 miles going very conservatively with 3 runs of 3, 3 and 5 mil...

Re: Longest training plan

OK, now I'm confused-- are you looking for a long plan or a short plan?

I don't understand the confusion... being that I generally go by distance, i asked how to gage the type of runs, and how this relates on race day if done based on timed runs.

Re: Longest training plan

Jim, interesting plan.
Do you vary the type of runs, or just go on the basic, tempo, long run. How do you gage your time for the race day?
I assume it would be run by perceived exertion?

Thanks

Longest training plan

What is the longest length in weeks for a training plan for a half. In other words, how many months before embarking on a plan?
Is 12 weeks enough after a base building phase of 4 months?

Re: Coconut Water/long run prep

I CAN eat anthing, however I have found certain foods bother me. I will save this for another discussion. How long can you go without anything but liquid? I am assuming that elites still take a sip of water. If I eat sweet potato with coconut oil, salad and fish the night before will that sustain me...

Coconut Water/long run prep

Tried this yesterday with 3/4 coconut water and 1/4 cranberry juice for my 4 miles. I didn't need this for fueling purposes, but would normally take water regardless of the distance. What do you guys use/do in preparation for a 2 hour run? Not anywhere there yet and won't be for several months but c...

Nice running and nice to catch up in person rather than by email. What a great way to start the week. I agree, nice one! I didn't post yesterday, but got a "long run" in outside. Nice weather, not too hot. Did 4 miles while hubby did some loops on the path. What is really strange is I real...

It's been a year since my last posting, but a year ogling and playing online games with some of you. Many have achieved their goals which is totally awesome. I have missed running so on with it. Sounds like a reasonable, intelligent goal Doug. I, too am in the 50 group (52.5) and have been told that strength training will help me through the aging process. Though, I have different problems, I miss running with regular goals and have signed up with hubby for the relay at ATB. Maybe we will m...

Re: 10K training after a layoff

I have had further complications due to illness. The first two weeks of September I was ill with "walking pneunomia". Last week, I ran five days, four runs were between 1.5 and 2 miles. My Saturday "long run" was 4 miles with a couple extra stops to be safe. I think I can still g...

10K training after a layoff

Hi All: I have been away from training for a while. My new goal is the Angus Glen 10K. It is 11 weeks away. I do not have any time goals but want to be somewhat prepared. I haven't run longer than 3 miles in forever, and haven't run a regular routine since last year. I have begun a new journey where...
