Re: New ATB route
Ran the new route today for our last long training run. Let me just say, it's still tough  but I did miss the hill. The route just seems a little more boring now that that portion of the race has changed. Let's hope they make up for it with an awesome t-shirt  Speaking of shirts ... Any ...

Re: Mississauga Marathon - Anyone ??
Anyone interested in a late afternoon pasta M&G at Boston Pizza, near the start line ? Or, the pasta buffet dinner, at the Host Hotel? Think it is only $15 or so ??? I know I'm going to be way too nervous the night before the race to eat much of anything. I'm getting nervous now just thinking a...

Thanks Jennifer I'm just starting to worry because I've missed so many training runs due to my mum's health situation. But I was able to do ATB despite everything so I'm hopeful! Only a few more weeks.....

Re: Around the Bay 2014
I tried to find the section you guys were in, but I ran out of time and had to get back to the group I was running with. I think we must have been on the opposite side of the arena. This was my first ATB and I had a blast, despite overheating a bit because of my long sleeves and winter running pants...

I have a grey ATB shirt and my bib says l'm supposed to be running in the A corral. Guess that's what happens when you buy someone else's bib If only my speed would magically increase when I put on the bib!

Re: magnesium?
I had a one week relapse on the sleep front. TERRIBLE sleeps last week, all week. But it seems to be settling again. Interestingly, the relapse occurred when I reduced the Calcium that I'm taking with the Magnesium. Not sure if that is what caused it but I've upped the Calcium again. Also, In spite...

Re: magnesium?
ok, I'm a bit afraid to get my hopes up, but I had *decent* sleeps the last two nights. On Wednesday, 7 hours with a couple of wake-ups, and Thursday 6:45 with a couple of wake-ups. That's not *great*, but it's better than normal and I have felt better than normal for the past two days (mentally aw...

Re: magnesium?
After reading your post I've starting taking my magnesium supplement right before bed. My problem in recent years hasn't been getting to sleep, it's been waking up at 3 or 4 am wide awake and not being able to get back to sleep. So far the magnesium seems to be working :D I still wake up, but I can ...

Re: 86 year old woman runs NYC then passes away
I would be quite happy to go this way. My mum is 81 and battling lung and throat cancer, up until her diagnosis a year ago she was vibrant and healthy. The ravages of disease are terrible, so if I had to choose, I'd rather go quickly doing something I love.

I don't eat ham and that's what my MIL decided to cook for Thanksgiving, so I filled up on all the side dishes. We had mashed potatoes, glazed carrots and green beans almondine. She also put a dish of pineapple slices on the table.

Re: Salt Sugar Fat
Just read this book a couple of weeks ago. I found it really interesting, especially how our food has changed significantly in the past 30 years without us even knowing it. I think it was the part about Velveeta cheese spread and how the guy who originally came up with the formulation back in the 60...

Re: Ed Whitlock Answers Questions in RW
Wow his answers are so...mundane...running for him is such a simple, uncomplicated thing. This is actually what I love about Ed the most. He doesn't try to jazz it up. Running can be pure and simple and it helps to have good genes  I've noticed in all the RR clinics I've taken we talk so much...

Re: The runners wave?
When I was running in Florida I very rarely received a wave or nod from other runners. As soon as I was back home in Burlington it was so nice to go out for a run and be greeted by almost every other runner. There's a very active running community here and people of all ages, which is great.
