She's obviously ticked at me, but I can't say I care. I told her to get herself to a doctor and get some real treatments and, with a doctor, devise a plan for running - if that is an option. I've done my share of stupid runs. But I have definitely learned my lesson. Admittedly I raced once when I s...

Re: What are you thinking when you first head out on a long run?
for me, it depends on how long is my long run. For long runs of 20K or less, I am looking forward to it Between 20k and 24K I start thinking about it 2-3 days prior to the run For long runs of 25K +, i start thinking about them one week in advance and they impact what I do the day prior (don't want ...

Re: Montreal Marathon - Oasis
If you are prone to GI issues while running, then you want to train with whatever you will use on race day, in my personal experience. If you are nit, then sure, have the oasis juice! Hi Kelodie, I used to think this too - and I remember writing to the race organizers about their "juice"....

I realized that it's actually quite simple. They will just list everyone and their "beat the qualifying time by" amount in order ...and then draw the line after X people.... Ok, but what if they have a bunch of runners who all beat their time by the same amount? How will they draw the lin...

I don't think people should count themselves out just yet There are many things that we don't know. First, we don't know how many people got "shut out" this year. Was it 100, 1,000? Second, we really don't know how many people will get shut out in the new system. The BAA does not say how m...
