RunJrun's Coronation Triathlon - better late than never
Sunday May 25, 2015 was my first triathlon of the season. I signed up for this race again for two reasons. 1. - I loved the race last year and will likely do this one every year; and 2. - It was exactly six weeks out from my 70.3 (half ironman) and I wanted to get an idea of where I am at when it co...

I had a ganglion cyst on my elbow a few years ago. When I went to the dr she ended up draining it - not a comfy procedure but it never came back. Maybe an option?

Re: Today is Tuesday
Great day of training in the bag. 2,500m swim (with drills) and at lunch 45 minute run (20 min warm-up, 5 x 2min hills, 8 min cool down).

Re: Virtual Workout--THURSDAYS....
I did this one yesterday at lunch and it was great! I warmed up for 10 minutes at 6.4 and then did the workout exactly as recommended with a 15 minute cool down. Thanks for a good one!

Re: Virtual Workout--THURSDAYS....
I was struggling to decide what to do today during my TM run. Now I know :) I think I will warm up at 6.2 for 5 mins, do each hard at 7.0 and easy at 6.4 and see how that goes. Will adjust if necessary. Will report back! This was a good one! It was hard though. Here is how it went for me: Warm-up: ...

Re: Half Ironman Training Plan
..right now I feel like the bike is at odds w/ the run - giving to one means I have to take away from the other. That's the nature of the sport. We have to become good at three things at the expense of being great at one. Another piece of triathlon lore for you to ponder; bike training supports run...

Runjrun's St. Albert Triathlon
Just over a week ago I participated in my third sprint triathlon of the year, the St. Albert Triathlon. I do love this race, not only because it starts about six blocks from my house, but because it is so well organized! My training up to this race has been pretty consistent, been spending a lot of ...

Willpower is huge. Also don't have the bad stuff in the house. Grab fruit, veggies, nuts etc instead. Lots of water, sometimes a glass of milk will fill you.

Come do Banff. You might get kicked in the head but it will be so cold you won't feel it.
I just may do that

Re: Runjrun's Leduc Triathlon
Great result and I enjoyed the report. I guess that will come with other struggles like being kicked in the head, lol. The risk of this is generally vastly overstated; you can position and seed yourself to have clear water for 100% of the swim if you want to. Even in the pack, in all my races I've ...
