Stub it on the bookcase today. This should speed up the process. (note the second toenail is already gone).

Re: doing some shoe shopping

I was at MEC with my kid today and I was thinking of this thread so I tried on a pair of Crosslites. They felt pretty good but perhaps a bit stiff for my taste. Also the closest they had to my size 13 feet was 12.5, so they also fit a tad tight. I also tried on some Brooks Cascadias, which I may be...

Re: 2 months after white river...

Coolio! Maybe we should have a toenail thread sticky  . Once my big toenails are gone I'll take a pic and we can all start a toenail collection together.

Re: doing some shoe shopping

So it sounds like it may be good to switch up the shoe depending where you're at in training. Hmm, this is going to take some more thought.

Yay! I think I may be able to make Sulphur :)

Re: doing some shoe shopping

This is great. thanks guys. What is the difference with the sole between the Crosslites and the Raptors. I do wear my Crosslites in town (cause I have to run on roads to get to the trail sometimes) and I hate my Mizuno's now. Hate 'em. Are the raptors chunkier? Well, I am definitely getting another ...

Re: doing some shoe shopping

- I had a pair of Raptors, they are a great shoe (ran HF50 in them), but for sure more supportive and heavier and stiffer than the Crosslites, but they might be a good option for 100miles, where you could use that. Now you've got me thinking... did I mess up Hali cause the Crosslites weren't enough...

Re: doing some shoe shopping

Yup wait for Spaff to read this, he'll give you all the right answers.. - Size was on the white tag on the tongue. - Crossovers look great for sure, but might be a bit too much (warm) for what you need. - There are some new Crosslites coming in the spring - I had a pair of Raptors, they are a great...

Re: doing some shoe shopping

Erm...maybe its just me, but aren't these just a Crosslite with a built in gaiter? Methinks you may just end up with the same blowout, if in fact your first blowout was a result of the shape of your foot. Of course, Spaff would likely be to 'be all, end all' opinion on these...but you know that. :w...

Re: doing some shoe shopping

p.s. does anyone know where they put the shoe size on the Crosslites? I can't find it. Usually it's on the back of the tongue... did Ilose the tag? want to make sure i get the same size :?

doing some shoe shopping

so the duck tape isn't holding on my blown out Crosslites so I figure it's time to order a new pair (or two) of shoes. Was looking at the MEC site and saw these: http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524442633602&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302759873" onclick="win...

Haliburton is not Haliburton without some soul-crunching but ultra spirit-building dnfs. My heart sank when I heard nature girl had to drop. Well this sucks... Just discovered that the qualifying period is Oct 1, 2009 - Nov 6, 2010, so my Haliburton 2009 doesn't count. Grrr. Just coming back from injury and I'm not too keen on racing quite yet, but will have to ponder options very soon. Oh no! That sucks. Well, get better and start raci...

My ankle hurts. I drank too much on Wednesday. I ate junk food yesterday. I'm going to hell. Edit: why is that word allowed? What a coincidence, I also drank too much on Wednesday. So are cuss words edited automatically or do the mods do it? If it is does manually, could I volunteer for the job? I ...
