Re: Run For Boston - Toronto/Montreal/Winnipeg/Calgary/Halif

Add Ottawa to the list.... Copied from Natural Fitness Lab Facebook page: Hi XC Zone. Tamsin Douglas from XC Chelsea Masters is organizing this. She's in Europe, so I am helping spread the word: Run Against Violence (RAVe) Violence against innocent victims is not acceptable. Not anywhere. Not in Bos...

Re: Boston Marathon 2013

I was heading out for my run commute home when I saw the news report. I was stunned. I am relieved to know no one here was injured though the shock and stress of the situation is huge to deal with. A friend of a friend was in the crowd and suffered leg injuries. The ER doctors removed metal balls fr...

Re: Canadian Cartel Icebreaker Sale

There are not a lot of IB at the westboro store and what they have are mostly small and larger or xlarge. They also have fox river etc. I may have lucked out but if you are in the area, I think it would be worth a look.

Re: Canadian Cartel Icebreaker Sale

I got my order that got shipped over to the Purolator far away from me. I wish that they would just safe-drop a bunch of clothes. :) I LOVE LOVE LOVE Icebreaker socks. I got 3 pairs that are crew or slightly above in length/height(?) and they are so toasty and warm. I did a quick run in them with m...

Re: October 2012

I am going to post here... hoping it will keep me accountable. ;) I foolishly (almost) doubled my running mileage last month (36 to 65 km). I know better than that. And the crazy thing is that a lot of those runs were not great - my legs were heavy, knees sore and I even had numbness in my legs and ...

A 6 km run at lunch time for me. I don't think numb toes are a good sign though.

I ran a slushy 5 km along the canal this morning before heading out of town for a family dinner. The calories burned didn't put a dent into the number I ingested today. Oh well, my NY's resolutions don't start until tomorrow!!

Heading out to my Mom's for family celebration round 2 and a visit with my Dad. I'm going start the year off right with a 5 km run along the canal or in Ingleside.

Great picture Marg and Jes!

I went for a xc ski in the Gats this afternoon. My third ski of the season and I double the distance and add some major hills... 14 km in 1:47. I face planted in the snow 2/3 of the way down Pink Lake hill but I got up laughing. LOVE skiing!!

Happy New Year everyone!!

I'm thinking of going up to P10 tomorrow with the trail runners and skis!! This is what it looked like 3 days ago so hopefully with some snow overnight, it will be somewhat decent. I can't wait any longer!! North Loop http://skitrails.xcottawa.ca/img/20111206/p8-p9.jpg From http://skitrails.xcottawa...

Re: Ottawa Group Run This Weekend- Lac Phillipe

Wow, that is crazy far away! Dave, I suggest something closer for those of us already coming from the boonies. Dave's P15 suggestion is a good one (about 15min less driving each way than P19), and Wolf Trail is a gem (but holy moly, people can snowshoe that? Whoa!). With the interior parkways close...
