One of our fellow runners is holding a run called "Baby Steps" here at Tri & Run Sports here in Trenton on December 17. It is in support of a foundation which has been established to financially assit Canadian couples who have encountered fertility issues. There are details here: https...

ATB Bib For Sale
I posted under Classifieds that a friend has an ATB bib for sale, if you know someone who is looking for one. Just wanted to make sure that someone doesn't miss out!

Re: 2014 Ottawa Race Weekend - May 24-25, 2014
I have a friend who is looking to buy a half marathon bib. She planned on registering and didn't realize that it would sell out so early.
It is probably too early for this, but where would be the best place to post this on the site?

Re: What is this device?
Sandy has one at her store here in Trenton. We all had fun last year trying it out, although I admit it scared the cr@p out of me. I didn't feel like I had a lot of control. She rode it one day when we went out biking but I think she found it a lot harder, and was hard to keep up, even to the slow b...

If you are interested in the one in Montreal, they have moved it to August this year. Here is the link to the website:

Re: The Colour Run - Happiest 5K on the Planet (Montreal)
My girls did the Colour Run in Montreal last October. It was held at Parc Jean Drapeau. As Jesse said, it definitely wasn't a race! I was starting to get worried when they hadn't finished the 5K after about 45 minutes. Apparently they stopped for quite awhile at the "colour stations."...

The photos are already up -- link to them through your results on Sportstats. Cathy and I only had two photos. I think we were running too fast. Our friend, who is a really fast runner, had 26. Our other friend who dressed up as an 80's chick had two pages of photos. She also ran 25K so I gue...

You should have said something! I am always talking to someone. I am terrible at remembering faces too.
I hope we see you back for 17.5K next year too!

Re: Fat Ass Trail Run Anyone?
Don't forget to practice running through the slippy slidey mud, and possibly water. We were lucky this year. That part that Dennis referred to as the "beaver dam" has been so bad in the past that there was no way to get past it except by wading through -- up to your knees. Here is what it ...

Re: Fat Ass Trail Run Anyone?
Carmen, I briefly saw you! You were just ahead of us when we were waiting to start. You turned around and took a photo of the girls who were right in front of us. I was going to run up then and say hi but Dennis was announcing that it was two minutes to the start and I didn't want to get separated f...

Re: Fat Ass Trail Run Anyone?
I will look for you! I will probably be wearing my Tri & Run Shirt, just because we like to support Sandy and her store, since we run out of there. It actually depends on the weather, WHAT I have on. And since I am walking and not running, I need to keep warm. There is well over 500 partic...

Re: Fat Ass Trail Run Anyone?
I was supposed to run the 17.5K but after having back issues and not running for almost two months, I have decided to drop down to the 10K and walk it with my friend, Petra. I love the 10K part of the route. There are so many pretty areas on it. So much that we have knicknamed them the Mystical Fore...

Re: Toad 2012
I remember one year it sold out in April! I am wondering if it is the combination of the cost and the fact that they have allowed more people to enter. Maybe some liked the smaller feel of the race with less runners. The first year I did it, there were about 250 people registered. I am disappointed ...

I just heard on the radio that the Holiday Inn is now the Ramada Inn, so if you can't find it, check that out. Both hotels are right at the 401 exit (#526). Not sure why they changed. They were Ramada when we moved here, changed to Holiday Inn and now they are back to Ramada. I am doing the 1...

Re: Fat Ass Trail Run Anyone?
Just bumping up this thread since I've been looking for fun races to do this November and most of the road 1/2m's around Ottawa are in October! Is anyone registered yet? I'd consider doing the 7.5 or 10K and would need somewhere to stay the night before the race (send recommendations!). eta. Hmmm, ...

Run for the Toad Bib for Sale
One of my friends has a Run For the Toad 25K run bib for sale. She is asking $80 which is a bargain over the current price of $98, not to mention the online service charge to register. She has contacted the Race Directors and they have advised that it is transferrable up until August 31. If you are ...

Re: "Toad" Practice Session Saturday, July 28
I've done all the "Run for the Toad" races except the first one, so nine in total. However, sadly, I am going to have to miss this year's and ruin my streak. Not so sadly, it is because I am going to be on a two-week all expenses paid (by my Dad) family cruise to Hawaii with my parents and...
