Re: White Rabbit, White Rabbit, White Rabbit Tuesday
I finally made it to 5km. :D Last week I got to all clear from my physiotherapist, so I am good to run. I've been slowly getting back into it over the last month or so, starting with 15 minutes and going from there. This afternoon I pushed through to 5k on the treadmill. I haven't run that far since...

Re: Spring Ahead Sunday
I managed to get 1.5 miles on the treadmill. :D I realize that's barely a warm up for most of you, but it was the 3rd run in the past week, which is a first in the 5 months since I tore my hamstring. The road back is long and slow. I do 5 min of running then 30 second walk break trying to go for 20 ...

Re: Quiet Sunday - Groundhog Day
I ran for the 2nd time since my injury. My first time was early in the week, I lasted just 9 minutes before my leg wouldn't let me continue. Today I ran for 15 minutes non stop :D it was just 2 km but my hamstring didn't hurt too much. I been doing stretching, strengthening and cycling several times...

I miss running. It's been 4 months for me. :( Hamstring is healing very slowly , I'm hoping to get back at it in a few weeks. I'm dealing with some hamstring issues too that are limiting my running...I feel for you. Hope you can get back at it soon. Thanks, while I am hoping to be back in a few wee...

I've heard of some of those, and they look like great therapies. Now, all I need is a few (ok many) thousands of dollars.

Re: Coming back to running (hopefully!)
Hi guys :-H I thought I'd poke my head in and say hi. I too have not been running much in the past year. I haven't been cycling either :? I went out with the cycling club a grand total of 1 time. It's been a number of things, including minor injuries and health "stuff". In June I was going...

Re: Top 10 running fashion faux pas
Oooh! Oooh! Me! I saw one yesterday, right downtown by the convention centre, as I stepped out for a walk to get lunch. I so very very much wanted to take a photo. For the most part, she looked fairly good, I think... fit little young woman with long blonde hair, wearing a super tight white tank to...

An update on Rick Ball - he's having a tough time
I saw this story in today's online paper :( .MARCHMONT — Rick Ball had his sights set on the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Now all he wants is to be healthy again. “This is my spot, right here,” the single-leg amputee and record-holding marathon runner said with a twinkle in his e...

Re: The silence is deafening
Lance did what he did, and is paying for it. Many people want him punished severely (and so on). His actions for the most part had to do directly with his sport, and thus are directly tied to his records. Personally my opinion of him has not changed at al. Oscar P. did something infinitely worse - a...

Maybe I am cynical in my old age. Nothing an athlete (or 'celebrity')does surprises me anymore. I just read that country singer Mindy McCready killed herself this weekend. This is sad, but once again a case of someone great at something, but flawed as a human being like the rest of us. They ...

Re: On the topic of cheating in races
So, when people ask, "Does it really matter if someone cheats in a race? Who is it going to hurt?" Well, maybe those people are dishonest or negligent in other parts of their lives, too! ;) no maybe about it... if a person doesn't have integrity, they don't have integrity. Well said Holly...
