Re: Soup Recipes

I usually use plain non fat yogurt in place of cream in soups. Works ok for me.

Thanks for the recipes so far, they look good.

That's a hard race not to start too fast. And that hill at 8k was brutal after 4k of gravel. Congrats on race #3.

It was great to see you, David and the girls today. Chatting with you before the race helped to keep the nerves in check. Thanks!

Maybe I'll see you at the Valley in the fall?

You never gave up. That fact alone makes me very happy with yesterday's race. It's the first time ever! Can't wait for that ice cream. :-) Now let's get q to cross his fingers for awesome weather next Sunday. You should be happy that is a huge accomplishment. Something I obviously need to work on. ...

Wonderful to see you again Karen. Sounds like you had a great run. Congrats on the "Glory Leg."

BTW, yes the bakery is called the Easting. I agree the Tall and Small Cafe is a great place to eat. I love going there for lunch.

Hope to see you next May if not before.

Wouldn't have made much difference to me even if I got the official time unless I made the mats. I want to hear the sound of the mats picking up my chip! And I was 5 minutes too slow for that. I hear ya, when I saw them take down the 1k to go sign it broke me. Next year, and it will be done on a ha...

Great job Angela. The gloves in the bandana were hilarious.

You were so close, I was really disappointed for you when I saw how close you were when the truck was pulling out.

Next Year!

Time to gear up for Johnny Miles!

I was wondering if they have a support crew. But, I guess, each runner could be self-supporting while the other guy drives to the next stage and naps. Still, a real challenge! They have a support crew: spouse, parents and friends. Some of their crew are runing early legs for other teams. One car is...

All Nova Scotia Provincial Parks are alcohol-free from the park opening date to July 1st for the 2008 season. Alcohol-free means no alcohol is permitted in the park. 35 minute spin this morning before work.

Tonight, my first time back to the pool since my half ironman, 6 months ago. Just jumped in the water and swam (slowly), did 1000m continuous. I didn't think I'd be able to do that much.

Aerobics First in Halifax sells wetsuits.

Torpedo Rays Scuba shop, where I got mine, sells the sleeveless wetsuits. They are in Dartmouth/Burnside.

The only other place I know of is the Tri store CAW mentioned in Fredricton.

I use to swim during the children's lessons. I was always worried the parents were watching what a poor swimmer I was, honestly I doubt they ever noticed me.

A few km's on the treadmill this morning. I ran barefoot, I'm being paranoid about shoes messing with the tattoos but I really wanted to run. Surprisingly, it was quite comfortable. You start in the water, usually 2 people share a lane (each has a side of the lane). Someone is at the end of the lane to count laps for you and let you know when you have one lap left.

In Nova Scotia the Super Sprint is the same as a Try-a-Tri. These are on the Atlanticchip.ca website. TRI NS doesn't have their website updated yet. This one is a pool swim, pretty much a flat bike and run. It can be windy though, nothing terrible. It is at Shearwater. Navy Trident Triathlon This on...

No running on this final day of 2008. And won't be any for a few days. I fulfilled my final goal of 2008 yesterday by getting my 1st and 2nd tattoos in one sitting.

Have a great New Years Eve however you celebrate it. And here's to a successful 2009 for all Maniacs!!!
