Re: Sunday Sundae!

I am just heading to do my last training run of this week (10 miles) in order to complete a total of 114.2 kilometres (in 7 days). I just don't know if this has been a good idea as a training scheme for a marathon, but the next 3 days I'll be doing just 5 Km and then rest for 3 days before the Hamil...

Re: Hamilton Marathon Road2Hope - November 6

I think Alfie is the one who is sandbagging us all !! Runs a marathon at STWM without any longish runs, and waffles about Hamilton, as a training run, while the rest of us are only up to 32K lsd runs ... Same as last year, when he smoked a sub 3:40:xx PB in the same race, on as limited training, as...

I want to improve a bit in Ha...

Anyone posting for this chilly Thursday

Just registered yesterday for the Hamilton Marathon. I intend to redeem the embarrasment of the STWM. My hip injury seems to be a thing of the past but still struggling to log long distance runs this week.

Re: Hamilton Marathon Road2Hope - November 6

My hip injury seems to be a thing of the past. I believe it was basically caused by running a marathon (STWM) without having the proper long distance adjustment. So, then I just registered meself today for the Hamilton Marathon. Therefore, if there is any get together after the race, I'll be willing...

Re: Wet & Windy Thursday

I am healing properly from my hip injury from the Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon. There are good chances that I'll register for the Hamilton Marathon and try to break my PB of 3 hours 39 minutes and 13 seconds......... Yeah I'm being too positive  In the mean time I am hitting the gym doing b...

I also report my bad races: Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon

I didn't feel like writing this report to begin with. Having learned how 80 year old Ed Whitlock ran a 3' 15' marathon is very encouraging but at the same time dissapointing (to my self esteem) if I had a very poor performance like a did yesterday. I ran what I expected considering my lack of long d...

Re: STWM Results

You just ran a marvellous race Robin. You really looked so strong and confident. I saw you for the last time around 26 K and then I faded as I was forced to walk from Km 28 to 32 due to pain on my left hip bone.

Re: Lisa P's Scotia report - it's all about the bag check!

Congratulations on your performance Lisa. It was great seeing you performing in the 1/2. I dodged the line in the bag check area by going through the back and looking for the bag myself. I spent in line like 10 minutes and then I walked through the back and found my bag within 2 or 3 minutes. And th...

Re: Toronto Waterfront Marathon - SOLD OUT

The 9 AM start will affect the marathon runners driving to the race. They will have to pay for parking after 1 PM (which is the Toronto downtown parking regulation). In other words, the past 6 years (in which I ran this marathon) the race started at 7 AM, so I didn't have to worry about the parking ...
