Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Ok, Moms, I have a question... Does anyone out there have a link to a good site or company that sells nursing necklaces? I need something. Morgan likes to grab things when she is nursing, and if I don't have the right kind of shirt on, the thing she grabs is a handful of me. It hurts. I know about ...

I used to wear the Moving Comfort Maia, but it no longer is enough support. I am a new convert to the Shock Absorber Ultimate Run Bra.

Re: (Insert Holiday Name) Monday

I'm also celebrating BC day!

I'm still rebuilding, so a wee 3K, but I had the bright idea to run a very hilly route. That was silly.

Boat time later!

Re: Tuesday...

Tough 3K for me, since I am not used to the heat or the hills. The scenery, on the other hand, is amazing and I wish I could run here all the time. I'd eventually get used to the hills!

Re: Top 10 running fashion faux pas

I'm not really fussy with what I wear and don't really care what others wear. Running stuff is expensive and I rather see people out running in whatever they can afford or feel comfortable in then stay at home scared of what the "real runners" will think. Many people are afraid to try new...

Re: Top 10 running fashion faux pas

As long as we're on matchy-matchy - does anyone else thing about matching manufacturers? I think about it sometimes when I'm wearing Nike shoes, deFeet socks, Pearl Izumi tights, Lululemon shorts, REI shirt, Puma shirt, Adidas hat. I think about it when I am wearing my lulu skirt with my lulu tank ...

Re: The runners wave?

I nod and I always say hello or good morning or hey. I've learned that it's good for safety as someone will remember the girl who said hello better than the girl who ran past ... just in case I go missing, ya know? I am glad I am not the only one that thinks that way! I thought of this thread yeste...

Re: The runners wave?

I wave/smile/say hello to everyone I see. Most other runners give me the nod. I don't take it personally if I don't get the wave or nod back. I've done my part to be friendly :)

Re: Top 10 running fashion faux pas

If a body is such that it needs tights to deal with a thigh-rubbing issue, odds are people don't wanna see that body so specifically. Ahem. I bought a skirt off lululemon's "we made too much" section, and it fits kind of funny (it's really tight and short) but it is super comfortable to r...

I wasn't able to run through my pregnancies, but my running is very much improved since being pregnant.

It could be all mental, but I am much faster now.

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

I loved my babyworx classes! I am considering them again, just need to figure out if I can work them around the older kids' schedules. Also, my favourite instructor doesn't teach them anymore. Older kids are welcome on the field. I heard a rumour that she was subbing a couple in the summer. I will ...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

I got all my stretch marks during the last 2 weeks of pregnancy. Coincidence that Zack was 2 weeks overdue? They're slowly fading...but whatever. I could really care less. For the 2 times a year I wear a bikini, people can deal with it. I got mine like 2 days before my c-section! they're rea...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

I was so proud of myself during my first pregnancy because I didn't have any stretch marks! Then my mom pointed out they were all underneath my belly. Sure enough, when I looked in the mirror and lifted the bulk, there they were. Now that I am un-pregnant, they are not really that noticeable...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

I think the only thing that can truly prevent stretch marks is genetics.

I did find that a belly butter felt really nice, though, especially when my belly got inexplicably itchy.

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

I waited until 12 weeks PP with #2, and am waiting until 12 weeks now. I want to give all my ligaments time to get back to "normal" before I try running. I get a lot of pelvic pain when I walk now, especially any distance. The other day I did 5k, and my pelvis was pretty sore the rest of t...

here's a workout I did on an oval track: http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/138005786" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I was just curious about how it would map, and thought it was hilarious :) Did you sneeze a few times? I was pregnant, so that probably threw my balance off :)

Re: Phone apps vs. GPS watches

I use MapMyRun, and I didn't see much discrepancy between it and my Garmin 205. I have upgraded my Garmin, so we will see how they compare once I start running again. For the most part I find it pretty accurate to use my phone app. if anything it might differ by 200-300m in total over a 5K run. Ther...

I have a very wide foot, and I have been running in Newtons. I adore them. I only ever have problems when I forget and my pinky toenail gets too long, then I get a blister on the next toe in.
