Re: Discoveries - First Canada's waterways, now the human kn
This just seems to be an embarrassment to the medical profession. How do you miss a knee ligament for the last 100 years or so?

Well, if you are doing the "Fun Run" I don't think you need to train too hard for it!

Re: Shoes for orthotics
I am looking for a shoe that will take orthotics and last through some decent mileage. I have just gotten the orthotics and have no clue. Most shoes will take orthotics. It's best to get a shoe where the sole insert just pulls out rather than the ones that are glued in. Some brands, by their nature...

Re: Diana Nyad finishes her epic Cuba to Florida swim
I don't think Diana Nyad swam from Cuba to Florida because it had sharks and box jellyfish. She swam it because of the challenge to her. The sharks and jellyfish were a byproduct that I'm sure she would have loved to not have had to deal with. RE: protective gear: I wear a helmet when I bike to pro...

They could buy a couple of Go-Pros and post them at the entrance/exit. Even fake cameras with a big sign saying the area is monitored by camera should do the trick.

I saw she was trying this again and really watched her alot closer the last 24 hours. I had never heard of those box jellyfish until I read her blog on Saturday. Boy, those are nasty jellyfish and they will chase you down to sting you.
Well done to Diana! That's quite an accomplishment!

I did get an over the counter orthodic from Solefit, the Orange Superfeet. I'm trying my best to get used to it, but can't say I'm loving it by no means. How long was your first run with the over the counter orthodic? Just like a designed orthodic you don't just put it in and run 30k. You have to l...

I don't have a hoo-ha, but I do have hairy nether regions, and can be prone to the same thing. Second the suggestion to soak it. I also cover angry little outbursts with moleskin to protect against chafing, and covering somehow seems to make them less angry. Finally, I make sure to keep it super-cl...

Re: 6.5 to 9 K to 9.8 K 5 Peaks Trail Race
Wrote a little about the race in my journal but thought I would put in a more pure "race" report here. With a home move and a new yard and work and ... I was not even trained to run a decent 10 K road race, never mind a 12 K trail race so a couple of weeks ago changed from Enduro to Sport...

Re: Mo vs. Bolt
I don't think you can really apply any aerobic/anaerobic analysis or whatnot based on whole populations of elite runners... not where Bolt is concerned. Farah is the man of the hour (but not nearly the greatest that ever was at his disciplines), but Bolt is by himself in uncharted territory of huma...
