Not sure, H. I've used that site a couple of times and haven't ever been disappointed.

Toronto Maniacs: Can you help out?

Ok Toronto friends, I need your help/advice. A friend of mine has two dear inspirational friends visiting your city from Australia from June 4-16 who need some help with hosting OR safe/affordable hostel recommendations. If you can help them out, please PM me and I will pass your info along. http://...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

I'm glad to hear that all the RM mommas are doing so great! I'm loving the updates. Sorry that I've been MIA. It seems that I have no free time anymore (hmmm, I wonder why!?). We're doing ok over here. A had her big 6 month birthday last weekend. She's doing great. We had her doctor's check-up a few...

Way to kill it, Andrea! This is such a huge accomplishment and you're such a rock star. Way to dig deep and churn out those speedy splits under pretty muggy conditions.

Re: Andy's 2014 ORW Bunny and Pace Report

OK, we're in! I have a couple weddings in June (7th and 28th) but I'll be back with the crew very soon. I swim on Saturday mornings so that usually limits me to Sundays.

Congrats on excellent pacing duties once again!

Re: New runners needed post-baby

When I worked at the RR, I always warned pregnant women that their feet would get larger and, in most cases, stay that way. Occasionally, one would say her feet were back to the pre-pregnancy size, but that was rare. The increase was usually 1/2 to a full size. One woman with tiny feet was looking ...

Re: New runners needed post-baby

True enough Scrummie. I used to be able to use these shoes just fine to 15k's. That's why I have a brand new back-up pair in my closet. I can still use them for strength workouts and walks but runs are out of the question. My toe is still sore today. I have an old pair of Kinvara 3's so I might try ...

New runners needed post-baby

After my first post-baby spring run in my old Kinvara 2's, I've noticed that my longer index toe (left foot) is getting stubbed again since it appears that my feet have remained large after having a baby. I had this same problem with other shoes like the Brooks Glycerins (huge toe box - maybe too bi...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

I was going to say Green Beaver too and it's manufactured in Hawkesbury ON. That's the one that we plan on using and I will have to get my little diva some shades too. :) That's great that Baby*Smiles is doing so well. Yeah, those early days are hit and miss but the 5+ hour stretches are sooo nice. ...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Scrummy: Keep it up if you're feeling good! I can't recall when I dropped but it was definitely after 35 weeks when I had my mat pics taken by Jes. I had DH take a bare belly shot of me in the kitchen which ended up being the night before A was born. I think that she was still fairly high although I...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Sounds like a great plan, QC.

Kid's races are the best. I'm on the hunt for some local 5 and 10k's this summer that allow strollers on-course. It will be good resistance training when A can sit forward in the BOB and I also can join my running partners again.

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Aw, sorry to hear about N's slow weight gain and that it's worrying you. Have you seen a lactation consultant? We have free drop-ins with Ottawa Public Health. Maybe there's something similar where you are? They might be able to give you some good tips or at least reassure you that nothing is wrong....

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Yes, it could be anything! I read somewhere that the teeth take their sweet time erupting but can shift through gum tissue even though you can't see anything yet. That could be an explanation for the prolonged teething period. I speculated that she's possibly teething because she's started drooling ...

Way to go, Jesse. I can't even do 'fly so kudos to you. If you don't manage to meet up with IG soon, I can dig through my tech clothes too. Some of my smaller stuff should fit preggo you. I'm planning to be at the pool this Saturday so can drop off anything I find after my swim if you want. My bladd...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Do any of you gals have some links or recommendations for good post-natal core workouts that have varying levels of difficulty? I have a bunch of yoga videos (yin, power, vinyasa) so that's covered but I wouldn't mind a good all-round strength workout that uses body weight primarily. I don't have an...

We got some gently used CDs that I stripped (just to be sure) but they are in great condition. :D Jesse - you are doing great! I admire how active you are! I get winded going up the stairs at work (not at home though, they are steeper at work). Other than dog walking and my short walk to get transp...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

I totally agree with QC! Our schedule is generally 7-9 and so far DD knows day from night and hasn't been giving us too much grief overnight. Babies can understand routines that's for sure. For example, DD knows that a feed usually follows a diaper change so even if she's fussing for food, she'll qu...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Thank you Carm!! I'm sure I will have questions as we go, but for the most part I'm just 'going with the flow' on a lot of things. We ended up getting a stroller & car seat this weekend. I don't know the brand off hand, it's still in the box  My parents bought it for us and of the ones we ...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

If the 1 minute of running goes by too fast, then I'd say you're probably ready for some longer intervals! AFM - still here, still running. Hit the third trimester, and mostly still feeling pretty good with some minor back pain (not running related). Cardiovascularly, definitely but I'm star...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Nice job on the runs, QC! I'm slowly getting back into it too, with 1:1's. It's pretty neat to be running again without the baby load but oh boy, 1 min of running goes by too fast. I dropped 30 lb at delivery and have about 10 to go. Now that I'm starting up cardio again, hopefully I can chip away a...

Re: Hot running (newish) Momma's thread...

Just getting caught up on the past few pages. It looks like we're past the stroller selection posts and onto baby gear. STROLLER: Like a couple Ottawa mommas, we got the BOB and borrowed a snap and go. I had the SAG in our trunk for a few weeks but hated it mostly because it's been well loved and it...

I registered for the 10k a few weeks ago. It will likely be my first race post-baby unless I do a 'fun' 5k before that. I've been off running since late August so I have the pleasure of re-training my body during winter/early spring. :)

I'm loving the pics including the ones in utero. I'm mobile right but will post one soon. Actually Jes is doing our newborn shots so I can definitely post then! Just a heads up that A is a lot older than most babies during their photo shoots so there is a strong possibility that she will be screamin...
