Well apparently, I make decisions quickly....the verdict is the 310xt! The RR deal that Andy mentioned plus a $10 off coupon that I've been saving is too good of a deal to pass up.

You can get the 110 with or without the HRM as well. The good thing about either one (the 310xt or 110) is that you can add the HRM later if you want or use one from an old Garmin. I think HR is a very important tool to have, and wouldn't want to use two different watches to get the different data....

If the surface water was slightly choppy, there may have been some surge. This can cause vertigo in OW swimmers and scuba divers. The transient dizziness could also be a mild middle ear infection. Anytime that I get a viral infection (cold), it goes straight into my sinuses and middle ear.

I had my SLR out at the race today but have a KATA rain cover so I was shooting away....One of the benefits of having family in Vancouver and visiting often-I have tons of rain gear including stuff for my camera.
