Re: Don't make me start the THURSDAY thread!
4.5k at 5:30 this morning - managed to get it in before the worst of the rain set in. Also walked Pottery Road hill twice later in the day (once at lunch and once going home... always opportunities for hill training when you work at the bottom of one!). That's some hill! I'll be working part-time a...

Re: Thank God it's Friday!
Great morning for a run. Not a lot of people out on the boardwalk this morning, though. I was thinking I may see BaldGuy down there, but no such luck. I gotta get out with BG (and you) out for a 'wee jog' one of these mornings - it would do our souls some good... When I'm ready for a slightly longe...

And, when did your dd get to be 10 years old?
It happened like magic. She was still in a stroller when I did my first half-marathon. She was four the last time I ran Ottawa.

Huh -- this morning I actually woke up at 5:00 and forced myself to go back to sleep so I wouldn't be tired later in the day. Running in my 'hood, at the top of the hill where I don't have to climb anything yet.

Re: It's all starting to make (medical) sense...
That's amazing! It sounds like this is going to be a really positive change! Joe is going for a sleep study next month, for many of the same reasons you mentioned. A machine sounds like a pain, but if this is what's needed to get some sleep, then so be it! If he needs one, he only needs it when he'...

Re: It's all starting to make (medical) sense...
Thanks everyone -- funny thing about sleep apnea, I didn't know there was anything wrong. I thought I was tired because of middle age, and depression, and overweight. I never imagined that the depression and overweight were related to poor sleep. I've always had insomnia problems, usually just can't...

Great to see you. Hope this means you'll be back more regularly.
Giddy is exactly the right word. Hopefully I can at least make it to the pub -- for the foreseeable future, I'm on Daddy duty in the evenings.

Don't make me start the THURSDAY thread!
Out for 3K in the rain at 6:15 in the a.m., because I was awake. Wide awake, not groggy, not crabby, not doing the zombie shuffle to the coffee pot. This is so weird.

3K run/walk with my 10 year-old DD. She's a trouper. She loves running track and field and cross country at school, so I was glad she offered to come with me tonight.
I won't say "I'm back", but that's twice this week.

Thanks Nick -- Barring surgery to push my jaw forward (which may or may not work), this is it -- but I'm okay with it. It's the price of freedom. I get the sense that a lot of people resist the machine, and I have to admit, I didn't want this diagnosis because of it. But once I knew it was inevitabl...

It's all starting to make (medical) sense...
Hey all. I hope this is the right forum ... it's a little off-topic, but it's running/health related. I haven't been participating much here lately because, frankly, I haven't been running regularly enough to justify much of anything. SInce my last marathon (Ottawa 2007), I just haven't been able to...

Welcome back, Ray! Hard to believe that RayMan 2.0 could be thinner than RayMan 1.0. Great to hear that your son is back with you!
Still BG -- just the fatter, slower version.

Re: What? It's not Friday yet? (Thursday thread)
There is no Friday in my world. OTOH, I can schedule a run at 10 a.m. on a weekday with minimal guilt. 5 km cranked out, down to Queen Street and back up the dang hill (though I chose a long, gentle hill over the long, steep hill). Have a great Thursday, all!

It really feels like it should be Friday!!! Last night was curriculum night at school , and I ran home afterward. You guys had a curriculum night? Seems a lot of schools are cancelling -- ours did. :-( Will go out for a run today, 3-5 km. Legs are tired from yesterday. It's nice to feel this kind o...

5K out-and-back with a brief stop for water. Felt like a long 5K, but it's done. A morning of sweaty goodness. Work event tonight, so I won't be at RunPub (like that's news to anyone).

What? No Wednesday Thread?
Just dropped little one off at school and before I get sucked into the work-at-home vortex, I'm going for a run. Because if I don't go now, I won't get out today. So I'm posting here. Once it's posted, I have to go. Right?

Re: Thursday's Thread...... finally
Spent cross-country talking with other parents about the current relationship of the teachers and the province, and new stuff happening in our school. THEN went for a run. 5.57 km (10:1s) in 36:53, average pace 6:37/km. After the first 2.5, I decided to treat myself to a run down by the water, then ...

No run today, but walked the 2 km home from work. Tomorrow: cross country practice with LittleBG's school team. Parent volunteerism = no excuse for not running at least a little.
