Re: Garmin forerunner 10

The Garmin 10 watch itself is great and a great value. The band design is too cheap and more than offsets the values of the watch. There are four pressure points instead of two. Two are connected by pins, which is fine. There are two other points where plastic adhesive is the conector. The wear endu...

Re: Around the Bay 2014

Ordering cheap shirts from China / Bangladesh / Saipan and then having them not arrive is not "circumstances beyond your control" I'm not ticked whatsoever at the Bay Race. I don't want an Ontario charity race to incur costs to expedite supplies because of an organized labour disruption i...

Re: Around the Bay Training Schedule

Consider a marathon training schedule but cut any race pace runs to 3/4 the distance and run these at 30K race pace instead of MP.

Re: Sports Drinks - useless or worse? (TV alert: Marketplace

Marketplace isn't a show about how to best train for a marathon, it's a show about holding businesses to account for the claims they are making. The show did it's job - it showed that sports drink advertising overstates the benefits and tries to sell the drinks to people who don't really need them....

Take a look at he Waterloo Run Series. Same race director. Most are bigger races but equally well run. Lloyd is great, treats runners like family. Ontario Marathons

Here is an updated list of Ontario Marathons, which includes 3 shared courses with Quebec, New York and Michigan... Just saw this on Twitter - good stuff!

I live just east of Bradford - if there are days we are both driving to and from day of the race, we could consider a carpool.

But will see you there regardless. Good luck with the training.
