Thanks for your input everyone. This is very helpful. I stopped in the bike store briefly today and talked to my guy. His advice was very similar to La's. It'll obviously come down to a preference thing but also cost. Just a quick glance at the prices and man O man...these suckers are expensive. Als...

I'm in SPD's. Every time I've replaced pedals or gotten a new bike, I've just stayed with SPDs so I don't also have to change my shoes / cleats (3 pairs). When I bought my shoes I bought them a size too big :wall: and have hated them every day since. So, I WANT new shoes too. :D I'll keep them and ...

I have Look Keos. They have a larger surface area than SPDs, and I find them easier to clip into and out of. Plus, they come in lots of colours... Your LBS should be able to walk you through the different types and recommend what is best for you :) That's my next step but I thought I'd pick some Ma...

I need new pedals for my road bike. Any suggestions?
Hi Folks,
The time has come to change/upgrade the pedals on my road bike. I know there are different pedal/clip systems out there but I really don't know anything about them.
What do you ride with and why?
Do you have any recommendations for me?
Thanks.

My kids were watching a show yesterday on "fit tests" for kids. One of the exercises was water running. However, it was performed on an underwater treadmill. BRILLIANT. It was in a laboratory type setting but it would be an awesome thing to have at the gym. Sounds like just the perfect thing ...

Loved every minute of my weekend at the Ride to Conquer Cancer weekend but I need a day to recover so it's Yin Yoga for me today. I'm very tempted to go to the 9am spin class but that would be silly (right? lol) Hung out with fellow Maniac DougG at camp on Saturday night and had a great time. We are...

runjanerun had an interesting stay at the Delta Chelsea once ... http://www.runningmania.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15206 Forgot about that. Remembered about the murder though... Ok. That's off my list. Any input on the Strathcona? Which Holiday Inn Express is that? I.e. what street? We've stayed th...

Used to have a set ... they went off the market suddenly ... for a various of reasons ... one being that they could implode (i.e. carbon spokes) if there was even a slight crack on one of the spokes ... They were band, if I recall from road races/crits, as they could do a lot of serious damage (car...

Jill, I've pm'd you a gmap of the route. I suggest riding it yourself on the weekend first. I could probably be convinced to ride up to your place and ride behind you as you do the route the first time if you are interested. I'll even throw in a tire change lesson . Oh Jill - take BJH up on this of...

Saw Kinga at the end of her 4th loop at about 6pm (each loop is 20k and she is running 8 loops! ). Also saw the Viking about one hour ahead of Kinga. They both looked GREAT! Ran into Mini-T and K as well. Mini-T is getting ready to run the 7th loop with Kinga. GO ULTRAQUEENGA! GO VIKING! GO...
