Stiil Running Against the Wind

The last few LSD I have run had a significant portion of the run against the wind (just the way it worked out) My DW tells me I should be happy I'm getting more resistance training. I used to have a link to a pace calculator that gave credit for a head wind. Does anyone know of one like that?

Late Spring 1/2 Races on the Trails

In the fall my family and I moved to the metropolis of Woodstock so I have spent the fall and winter finding new places to run and hunting for new local races. I found this one That Dam Trail Run on Saturday June 13. A disclaimer: I have never run this and do not know anyone who has. I cannot commen...

If this is what it takes to be a ultra star like you count me out

Sounds like it was a great run with a little humble pie at the end (I think I have been there myself) :)

Thanks for the report. A great result for your first half and a great location.

I was in Miami that morning trying to get off a cruise ship and get out of town and wishing I was running in that gorgous weather.

Thanks for your responses. In the past I have always run spring marathon PBs off of a ATB PB so I was hoping to do the same this year. To answer some of your questions........ klewlis wrote do you have to race ATB or can you use it as a training run for the full? well I don't race much so I do have ...

1 month off between races

So this is my dilemma. I am training for and planning to run ATB at the end of March and then I would like to run a late spring full toward the end of May (Ottawa perhaps). Due to work commitments my month of April is shot for any consistent training. I am going to follow my 30K training routine as ...

How Do You Use Your Garmin?

As a moving/relocating/hey I got a new job present for me I purchased a Garmin 205 in the late summer and since then have been tracking my runs with it, setting up workouts, and generally trying to figure it out. So I was wondering how others use their Garmins. What functions do you use or not use a...

Thats part of the issue I think. Once I start to taper I tend to stretch more only because things are starting to tighten up. My calfs always seem to be getting tight as I run less. I have a good feeling all these things are related. Maybe more shorter runs during taper time would keep me looser? I ...

On the good advice from my running bro I bought a pair of Zensah compression shorts. I have only had them for a few runs but they do seem to hold everything in place and feel all right.

My DW won't let me out of the house with out a pair of regular shorts over top though

Sore Back During Taper Time

If you read my Scotia Marathon race report you will see that I developed a sore back days before the race. This is not a new thing. The same thing happened for the last two ATB and my fall marathon last year. The first time I figured it a fluke. The 2nd time I wondered what was going on. The 3rd tim...

lx2run didn't like his Sunday run

The History The Scotia Waterfront was only my second race of the year. I ran ATB in a respectable time and was hoping to build on that with some good training this summer. My training routine change when I changed jobs and ended up living at my parent’s home from June until the end of August. I ende...
