RG, I'm sorry about your friend's health. When I hear about skin cancer I normally think about sun-damaged skin, not about toesnails. Thanks for sharing the warning, and best wishes to your friend. I hope the disease hasn't spread and he recovers nicely.

The relays are full... only the 5k still has spots left. --- and I signed up for the 5k last December! I was the 4th person to register. (Bib # 6004) Guess I coulda waited awhile longer. Oh well, signing up early encouraged me to keep running through the winter. It'll be my first race, and my first...

Way to expose Bman! If you have an XL in white, I'll gladly buy one for my hubby. (He hasn't lost a testicle, but he did lose 1/2 a lung.) Good luck on your quest.........

is it just me, but every time I see ATB, I think 'Alberta Treasury Branch'???!!??! LOL! My hubby and I lived in Calgary for 5 years (in the 70's) and we've visited the city twice since then. The west is a wonderful place to live and explore. Hamilton is where I was born and raised though, so I've h...

Thank you Al. I appreciate the information. I'm sure I'll survive the jitters. :? And thanks BG. Running Times is not an easy magazine to find around here, but I called our local Chapters/Indigo store and luckily they had 2 copies left so I put one on hold for pick-up/purchase this evening. I subscr...

Good morning all, I'm a notorious weather watcher. More snow in the forecast here today (Snow at times heavy beginning this morning changing to periods of rain this afternoon.) However, it's looking more promising for ATB. The Weather Network is now predicting sun and mild temps for the whole weeken...

12km LSD is great. With that base, you are looking at a good 1/2 marathon in the spring and a marathon in the fall. This is a great start for the running season! Thank you Chris. You made my day! RM oozes support. Your comments were very much appreciated. Now if I can just handle my first 5k race n...

On my walk back home, I played Daniel Powter's "You had a bad day". Love that song Chris. Congrats on the 31k! My hat's off to everyone who braved the weathe...

In Niagara this morning it's -2°C, wind chill -8°C, the sun is shining brightly, but we still have 6-8" snow on the ground. We slept in a bit and are now heading out to take the dogs for a nice long walk. If the trails are all snow-covered and icy I'll do my 12k run (90 min) on the TM at home this a...
