Re: Middle Wednesday

8K for me after work. It poured on and off all day so I was expecting to get soaked, but it didn't rain a drop when I was out running, LOL. Should've left the jacket at home, it would've been far more comfy!

Re: Snowy, not Sunny Sunday

9K on sloppy greenbelt trails, including a number of sections that required some minor bush wacking to get around some small lakes.

Re: It's Monday and spring is in the air.

10K for me after work in shorts and a long sleeve shirt. Gorgeous weather, now we just need one of two things:

1) The streets cleaned so I'm not choking on dust whenever a bus goes by, OR (preferably)
2) Some extended heat to melt the rest of the snow on the trails so I can venture off road :)

8K for me this morning on the TM and then a really light 2K jog with my son this afternoon. He's doing the Ottawa Kids's Marathon, and he's loving the outdoor runs :)

8K for me tonight. I woke up sneezing with a goofy runny nose and thought allergy season had arrived early, but while I was out on my run, I saw a bus go by and kick up a massive dust cloud that had me spitting out sand, LOL. Then it dawned on me that I had run the night before as well and probably ...

Subsequent to St. Patty's Day Saturday . . .

Beautiful sunny skies here this morning, but I didn't want to deal with the -20 windchill so I hit the TM for 10K.

Re: Winter Wednesday

Meanwhile, my alarm clock figured that today would be a good day to switch to Daylight Saving Time, and by the time I figured out what had happened, I was wide awake. For some reason this made me think of the Seinfeld episode with the marathoner from Trinidad and Tobago who overslept and missed the...

Re: Size of your running shoes

I've got a wide wedge shaped foot so I have to try on literally every pair of shoes I buy to see if they'll work. There seems to be no rhyme or reason with respect to what size I'll need in any type of shoe, except that it usually ranges between 9 and 10.5 and regular width to EE, LOL.

Re: 5 days per week vs. 4 days per week but similar mileage . . .

Now I do speed work once/week during the off season and it has allowed me to maintain some fitness and feel better overall. I've noticed the same thing when prepping for spring goal races and I mix speed workouts in. They definitely provide a bit of a boost for me, even though they often suck while...

Re: 5 days per week vs. 4 days per week but similar mileage . . .

Thanks for that Dstew. It does provide some additional insight to consider, and to be honest, I've had some similar thoughts on my own when it comes to trying to find that right point of balance. I'm really going to try and focus on improving my nutrition, regardless of what I decide to do with my r...

Re: 5 days per week vs. 4 days per week but similar mileage . . .

Wow, thanks for the feedback everyone! Where to start . . . At this point in time, I'm pretty happy with where my running is. I've been able to remain injury free running the volumes I have been for the past couple of years and it provides me with a great stress release. That's my main priority. It'...
