A battle for the ages unfolds at high altitude ________________________________ By Michal Kapral JOGGLING REPORTER ________________________________________ Woo-eee, what a race it was! I mean, really, is there anything in the world more thrilling than an epic showdown between the world's top two mar...

That's Incredible!!! I'm up to 96 catches that should get me about 100m. Does anyone else need to refrain themselves from making ball jokes? Or am I the only childish one. That's great (the catches, not the balls jokes)! Once you can catch 100, that's considered "solid" in the juggling world. Then ...

I purposely ran outside instead of going to the gym (next to the store full of tasty treats) just so I could avoid post-run treats!!! I am strongly considering making some date squares to celebrate two things... 1. Grey's Anatomy 2. My super awesome run (even though it was outside in the cold and d...

I wish people would leave my records alone so I could move onto the next ones. The backwards marathon was planned for next year, but I've been reevaluating my priorities lately and have decided that running a retro marathon may not fit into my schedule. I do, however, want to break the 8K record for...

Stroller-pushing marathon record
Looks like my stroller-pushing record is in serious jeopardy! http://www.fredericknewspost.com/sections/news/display.htm?StoryID=58915 http://www.knoxnews.com/kns/other_sports/article/0,1406,KNS_304_5454855,00.html But I'll still be the first in the 20-month-old baby category.

this thread is making me crave salt. Who's up for some potato chips? :) Have you tried the new Spicy Curry chips by Lay's? no, but I'm not a huge fan of flavoured chips... my favourite is lays original ripple. mmmmmmmmmm. (great, now I really am craving them...) hey, that's what I had ... l...

I used to run along that route when I lived in the west end. It's a good race, but the weather is usually hot and humid. One year they served Krispy Kremes in the finishing chute and I watched a bunch of runners negate all the calories they burned during the race with a few bites. I ate half of one ...

Thank you everyone. Having an "online" cheering section here was a good motivator. Too bad I just missed the record, but the head-to-head joggle-off certainly lived up to its name. We exchanged the lead several times throughout the race, each of us gaining up to 40 seconds on the other at some point...

Take a looksie at this article from Pfitzinger ... :P http://www.pfitzinger.com/marathontraining.shtml This shows that for the best marathon training, you need to put all the pieces of the puzzle together. I've used 800m repeats for 8 years now and believe they play a key role in increasing speed. ...

I'll tell you right now that I am not quite capable of a 4:09 marathon. That's not lacking self confidence, I'm not quite there yet. I've found the Yassos to be a really good predictor myself, but the theory does assume that you've done all the rest of the training for the marathon, like good quali...

31k @ 5:28 pace this morning along the canal. At first read I thought, I didn't know that Ed Fizz was in Ottawa. And then I realized: Welland Canal. There's a lot of neat stuff to see, if you a trnasportation history buff, when running along the Welland Canal. I'll try to remember to bring th...

It's been eight long days of no running, no juggling and no joggling, but I'm happy to report that my neck is almost completely healed and I'm planning to joggle home from work today. Lesson learned: Do not lift a heavy piece of furniture while standing in an awkward position, and when you feel your...

31k @ 5:28 pace this morning along the canal. After turning around in Thorold, followed a rail line for a bit before getting back onto the path. Glad I did 'cause came across a doe. She stared at me for a minute before darting into the brush. Such graceful animals. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=...

I agree about Longboat. Nice event and nice place for the family to spend the whole day too. I'll probably be working the finish line. I've been a Longboat member since 2000 and they're a great bunch. All of the race officials and martials are runners. Bring the family along if you can. The kids' 1...

For a 5K/10K, the Longboat Toronto Island Run is good. Nice flat course, but it's often boiling hot. It's Sept. 9:

I had my physio/chiro appointment this morning and was relieved to get the news that he thinks my neck and back should be healed in time for the marathon.
